Bento Box quilts are fun to make and look great in
any color combination. It’s no wonder they are so
popular right now! This class is perfect for the firsttime quilter and those wishing to establish a firm
foundation of quilting basics. Instructors guide step
by step with group instruction and personalized
assistance. Advanced Beginners and Experienced
quilters may enjoy scrambling the parts of the block
to add interest and dimension to the quilt and/or
borders. PATTERN: $5 (prepay with registration); will
be mailed with confirmation packet.
Marmalade & Jam (Level 2)
This contemporary sampler features traditional blocks set
in an artful design. Project is a wonderful way to learn or
polish piecing skills while creating eleven different quilt
blocks in varying amounts and sizes: Pinwheels, Flying
Geese, Log Cabin, Modified Light and Shadows, HalfSquare Triangles, Half-Square Pinwheel, Attic Window,
Art Square, Nine-Patch, Nine-Patch Straight Furrow, and
Bear’s Paw. PATTERN REQUIRED: $12 Marmalade &
Jam by Sweet Clover Canyon (prepay with registration);
mailed with confirmation.
Trip around the World Table Runner (Level 2)
Now you can create a beautiful table runner to enjoy from a pattern that is truly a
timeless favorite. The runner is strip pieced and goes together quickly. This mini
version of our full sized quilt pattern is a great way to use up scraps and play with
color, scale, and texture. PATTERN: $5 (prepay with registration); will be mailed
with confirmation packet.

Holiday Table Runners
Our table is always the focus for decorating in our
homes. Changing the table runner and centerpiece
to go with the current holiday or season of the year
is a fun way to celebrate. Our retreat classes this fall will focus on making
Autumn, Halloween, Christmas and Winter Table Runners and other
projects from Nancy Halvorsen’s new book Table Please, Part Two. Kits
will be available for the various runners and projects – you can make one

ages 11-18. Machine spaces are reserved for both
mom and daughter. Moms can work on own projects but are expected to
assist daughters. The fun includes “Girls Only” activities and crafts. Moms
and/or daughters may choose a class or bring their own projects.
Start with a nine patch and make it something spectacular! Free demo bring lots of nine patch blocks ready to cut up.

Level 1 Classes teach basics of quilt making including accurate measuring, rotary cutting and machine piecing. This level is great for first-timers and beginners
who desire a firmer foundation of quilting tools and methods. Instructors guide with step-by-step instructions from start to finish.
Level 2 Designed for those who have experience in basic cutting, piecing and finishing techniques. Classes focus on a specific pattern or technique.
Level 3 Reserved for those who possess a broad grasp of quilting techniques. Accurate sewing is essential. Classes focus on teaching specific pattern
and often involve intricate and precise piecing methods. Participants generally work on their own with instructor assistance available.

EARLY BIRD OPTIONS
Sessions A, B & E: $59
Come any time Thursday after 10 AM. First Camp meal is 5:30 pm.
Includes Friday breakfast and lunch. Enjoy the extra time to sew at your
own pace (no classes or instructors).
Session C: $25 – Come any time Friday morning after 9 AM. Includes
coffee & scones in the morning and Friday lunch.
REFUNDS:
Full payment required to save your spot (includes nonrefundable $25 deposit). No refunds after Feb. 10 unless spot is filled.
** GENEROUS FINANCIAL HELP IS AVAILABLE.
Send $50 deposit when registering and attach a note requesting an
application. Do not allow finances to be the reason for not attending!
WHAT TO BRING:
Bedding, mattress pad, pillow, towels, toiletries,
flashlight, earplugs, informal clothing, project supplies, sewing machine,
IRON, extra lamp, chair & cushion, uncompleted projects, Bible.
THINGS TO LEAVE AT HOME: CD/DVD players, side tables, alcohol.
WORKSTATIONS:
6’ tables shared by 2 people. Work stations are
organized by class, skills, and/or projects. Friends wanting to be stationed
together should select the class that fits the least experienced member in
the group.
HOUSING:
CEDAR BAY LODGE/BIRCH POINT: 18 units sleep 4-5
adults (XL bunk, XL reg. double, rollaway), full bath. CHALET: 6 units
sleep 4-8, private vanity, community showers, elevator access, handicap
friendly. SCANDINAVIA: 6 units sleep 3-7, adult beds, community showers.
CABINS: (By special request only): For individuals and groups desiring a
more private sleeping area. Cozy units with shower house nearby. Standard
twin beds. Linens available. ROOM ASSIGNMENTS are made to maximize
the group experience and factor in project, stay, and roommate requests.
Sorry, private rooms are not available.
LINENS:
Bedding and towels are available for rent. Includes one
blanket, bed sheets, pillow, pillowcase, and towels. Linen fees: (1-2 nights
one set $5; 3-4 nights two sets $7; 5-6 nights 3 sets $9). Limited quantity
available. TWO-WEEK ADVANCE NOTICE REQUESTED.
CHILDREN:
Daughters age 13+ may attend with mothers (Quilt E age
11+). Desiring to best serve all guests, we are not able to accommodate
babies.
