This is perfect for MOH or any other charity quilt, gift, or just to keep at home. Want to be really productive? Layer your fabric and cut 2 or 3 quilts out at one time. This makes a 50” x 60” throw quilt Focus fabric Fabric #2 (green) Fabric #3 (red) Fabric #4 (purple) Focus fabric Fabric Requirements 1-2/3 yard (if piecing long borders) 1/3 yard 5/8 yard 5/8 yard Cutting Instructions Cut 1 (one) 12 7/8” strip and then Cut 2 (two)—12 7/8” squares from this strip. Cut on the diagonal once. Border strips are cut 5.5” for sides and 10.5” for top and bottom. Fabric #2 (green) Fabric #3 (red) Cut 4 (four)—8.5” squares Cut 2 (two)—9” strips WOF of each color and from each one of thse: And Fabric #4 (purple) Cut 1 (one)—9” square (for a total of 2 each color) AND Cut 2 (two)—4.5” x 24.5” rectangles (for a total of 4 each color) ©2006 Sheryl Till…Please respect copyright by not copying/sharing without express consent. 1 Sewing the Quilt Sew red and purple squares into a large 4-Patch. This unit should measure 17.5” square. Sew Focus Fabric triangles onto each side. This unit should measure 24.5” square. Sew red and purple strips together to make 4 of these units. These units should measure 8.5” x 24.5”. Sew one unit to each side of the center medallion. Sew 1 (one) green square to each end of the remaining red/purple units. ©2006 Sheryl Till…Please respect copyright by not copying/sharing without express consent. 2 Sew these units to the top and bottom of the center medallion paying attention to the color orientation. This unit should measure 40.5” square. This is your “big block”. Measure across the center of the quilt and use this measurement to cut your side borders. If your center measures as it should you will cut 2 strips---5.5” x 40.5”. Sew these to the sides. The quilt should now measure 50.5” x 40.5”. Measure the quilt top to bottom using the center for your guide. If your quilt measures as it should you will need 2 strips---10.5” x 50.5”. (you will need to piece these).
