Spring 2013 CONTENTS FRAN’S FOOTNOTES Spring at Fran’s Sewing Circle means new fabrics, new classes, and summer camp schedule. Recently arrived fabrics include light yet bright prints including Honey Honey by Kate Spain and Noteworthy by Sweetwater, both Moda fabrics. We also have “beach” fabrics by Moda and Tulla Pink for Freespirit and more. We just received new precuts from Island Batik and are expecting new selections from Hoffman any day now. As you look through the class selections, you will see many of the samples made from these wonderful new fabrics. We look forward to seeing you in the many wonderful classes our teachers have come up with this quarter. Remember to sign up early so you don’t get closed out of a popular class and some classes ask you to do some “prep” work. This helps keep the cost of classes down and leaves the class time for the new techniques and inspiration! Our class difficulty coding is not to keep anyone with skills away from any class, and we hope will encourage new sewers to try some of the “one scissor” classes. We are very excited about our Summer Camp offerings this year. We have three day camps for the youngest sewers and 5 days for 10 – 14 year olds. This year, we will have Lydia King teaching the 3 day camps. Lydia has been taking classes and assisting for over 5 years and is ready to instill love of sewing to this year’s campers. The 5 day classes will be led by Fran, Andrea and Jean, each with one week themed to their favorite interests.
