A course in Pattern Engineering for Apparel is for individuals seeking to move directly into a technical
career in pattern making or those wishing to start their own fashion label, having practical involvement
in the product development and subsequent pattern generation. This course is suitable for individuals
with some previous manual pattern making experience and basic garment construction knowledge.

The course exists with two, stand-alone components:
Advanced Manual Pattern Technology and ComputerAided Pattern Engineering.
1. Advanced Manual Pattern Technology:

jackets, after-five, ready-to-wear (incl. sportswear,
stretch), lingerie, swimwear, childrenswear
> Specification
sheets to industry standard including
linear and non-linear sizing
> Pattern
Grading
2. Computer-Aided Pattern Engineering:

pattern functions of Grafis system
> Practice
on free downloadable version for use at home
> Size
and fit technology for individual and standard
sizes for men and women
> Applying
Fashion design concepts to computerised
pattern making
> Advanced
pattern manipulations using x and z values
with piece dependency

to adapt learned skills to other Cad Systems
