This course is suitable for individuals with some previous manual pattern making experience and basic garment construction knowledge. 22 Course Outline: Assessment: The course exists with two, stand-alone components: Advanced Manual Pattern Technology and ComputerAided Pattern Engineering. 1. Advanced Manual Pattern Technology: > Complex design analysis includes categories: tailored jackets, after-five, ready-to-wear (incl. sportswear, stretch), lingerie, swimwear, childrenswear > Specification sheets to industry standard including linear and non-linear sizing > Pattern Grading 2. Computer-Aided Pattern Engineering: > Basic pattern functions of Grafis system > Practice on free downloadable version for use at home > Size and fit technology for individual and standard sizes for men and women > Applying Fashion design concepts to computerised pattern making > Advanced pattern manipulations using x and z values with piece dependency > Grading and production output > Ability to adapt learned skills to other Cad Systems > The course is based on small group sizes (average 15) Completion of all assignments and set tasks. Completion of construction based grading and grade point grading Prerequisites: Evidence of some previous manual pattern making experience and basic garment construction knowledge.
