• Please be sure to bring the following presser feet for your machine:
-- All Purpose Presser Foot
-- Zipper Foot
-- Walking Foot
-- Piping Foot (if you have one, please bring it, if not, you might consider purchasing one from your dealer)
• A small travel iron and ironing surface (if you have one); (Since we have 6 students in class, this will make our first few steps go much
easier)

• Basic Sewing Supplies such as: sharp scissors, straight pins (long glasshead pins work best), , marking pencil or pen; seam ripper,
small ruler, etc...
BEFORE CLASS: Please precut all of your bag shapes & interfacing prior to our first class. You will need to allow a few days
to do your precut- It will take a whole day or at the very least a couple of afternoons....Also please read the pattern prior to
your precut - this will really help! You can cut the pattern shapes out that are included in the pattern or we reccomend tracing
them and cutting them out on Reynolds Freezer Paper (from the supermarket) so that you can iron them (shiny side down) directly to
the fabric and then cut your shape out. Please follow the instructions for cutting your fabrics, SF101 interfacing and stiff interfacing
on Page 1, Steps 1 & 2 of the pattern. You can also refer to each pattern shape for quantiies of each shape, interfacing etc. needed.
(They do vary fom shape to shape so take note). Do not cut the strips for the cording as explained in Step 3 of the pattern.
When you are complete with precutting, sandwich the Peltex 71 Stiff Fusible Interfacing (remember - these pieces should be 1/2”
smaller all around from your fabric pieces as directed in the pattern) between the Exterior Main Panel/Main Pocket Panels and fuse
the SF 101 lightweight interfacing to the WRONG side. Also fuse the remaining lightweight interfacing to the other pattern pieces.
Please call us for assistantce if you have any questions at all.
You are done and ready for class! If you need assistance with your precutting or fusing, we are here to help and you can
make an appointment for precuting by calling the shop at 910-215-5981!
