Critical thoughts can be directed at others or self directed – both of which are so destructive. Criticism can leave us powerless, ineffectual and defensive. Wouldn’t it be great if we could rather focus on the strengths we have (and those of others) which would leave us feeling energised, uplifted and strong? Let people know when you think they are kind, responsible, courageous, honest, passionate, a good listener etc. Remind yourself of your own strengths daily and add to the ones listed above. After all, nobody gets enough positive affirmation. Box Hill South Neighbourhood House has rooms available for hire. We also have a registered kitchen.
