The Rices Landing Riverfest Pageant is back this year! Girls ages 3-Junior in High School are welcome to
compete for the titles of Little Miss Riverfest, Petite Miss Riverfest, Junior Miss Riverfest, Teen Miss
Riverfest and Miss Riverfest 2014.
The Rices Landing Miss Riverfest Pageant will be held at Jefferson-Morgan High School Auditorium on
Saturday, June 7, 2014. Contestants should arrive to the pageant site by 12:00P.M. Doors will open to
the public at 1:00P.M. The Pageant will begin at 2:00P.M. There will be a walk thru rehearsal on June
6, 2014 at 6:00P.M.
Contestants will compete in the following categories: photogenic, sportswear, talent (Little Miss
contestants excluded from talent) and evening gown. One Queen will be awarded in each division, as
well as a first and second runner up. The Queens will receive a crown, sash, trophy, flowers and cash
award. First runner ups and second runner ups will each receive a trophy and flowers. There will be a
photogenic award in each age division.
Cash award for the Queens are as follows: Little Miss Riverfest ($200), Petite Miss Riverfest ($200),
Junior Miss Riverfest ($200), Teen Miss Riverfest ($300) and Miss Riverfest ($500). The Queens will
receive half of their award on pageant night. Upon completion of her reign she will receive the remainder
of her cash award at the Riverfest Pageant, the following year.
Each contestant is required to submit a minimum of $300 in sponsorship ads or general sponsorship to
be placed into the program book. The contestant who raises the most in sponsorship sales will receive a
plaque and a $100 cash award. The deadline for the entry packets, sponsorship ads, entry forms and
photos for the program book is Wednesday, April 26, 2014.
There will be a luncheon for the candidates and one adult on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the
Rices Landing Volunteer Fire Department firehall. At this time, the contestants will draw their number.
The 2014 Little Miss Riverfest, Petite Miss Riverfest, Junior Miss Riverfest, Teen Miss Riverfest and Miss
Riverfest Queens will be required to attend the Riverfest festivities in Rices Landing on June 13 and
June 14. The Queens will also be required to make appearances during their reign which include riding in
local parades that the Rices Landing Fire Department attends.

AREAS OF COMPETITION
Sportswear:
Each contestant will wear their Miss Riverfest Pageant T-Shirt with a white skort
or golf skirt and choice of white sandal. The modeling pattern is attached (Pg. 4).
T-Shirts will be given out at the luncheon. T-Shirts are not to be decorated or
covered.
Talent:
All talent numbers should be no longer than 3 minutes. Talent must be in good
taste and age appropriate. You will be required to bring 2 copies of your music
the day of the pageant rehearsal labeled with the contestant’s name and
contestant number. Please make sure they work in a variety of music players.
Contestants should have no live accompaniment of any type. Contestants in
the Little Miss division will not be competing in the talent portion of the
competition.
Evening Gown:
Pageant gowns will be worn for this portion of the competition. Little Miss
Riverfest contestants and Petite Miss Riverfest contestants may wear
pageant dresses. The modeling pattern is the same as sportswear (Pg. 4).
Photogenic:
The photogenic competition will be judged by the judges before the pageant on
pageant day. Contestants must submit an 8x10 color headshot. There will be a
photogenic winner for each age group.
** During the Sportswear competition contestants must wear their contestant
number on their left hip. During the Evening Gown competition, Contestants must
wear their contestant number on the bottom left of their pageant gown/dress.
Contestant numbers will NOT be worn during the talent portion.

As a title holder of the Miss Riverfest Pageant and a representative of
the Rices Landing Volunteer Fire Department you will be required to:





Attend both days of Riverfest 2014
Attend the opening ceremony of Riverfest on Friday June 13, 2014 at 5:00 P.M.
(meet at the stage)
Attend Riverfest on Saturday June 14, 2014 for at least 1 hour.
(Check in at the T-Shirt tent.)
Attend the Jacktown Fair Parade
Attend the Coal Show Parade
Attend the Rices Landing Memorial Day Ceremony
Additional events to be determined by committee.
** If a Queen is unable to attend an event due to illness or family emergency a
committee member must be notified.
** As a representative of the Riverfest/ Rices Landing Volunteer Fire Department
one should conduct oneself in an appropriate manner during their reign.
** Failure to do so will result in automatic disqualification and forfeiture of the full
cash award that is unpaid. The 1st runner up will fulfil the remainder of the reign
and will receive crown, sash, and remainder of cash award.
** A Queen who may win another title during their reign must still wear the
Riverfest Crown and Sash at some point during their appearances.
