- (3.0mm) Crochet Hook (a 3.5mm
hook can also be used)
1 small button measuring 1.5cm
in diameter
Yarn needle for sewing in ends
Finished Size
Finished purse should measure 3.5”
(width) by 3” (length) if using a
3.0mm hook.
Gauge
Gauge is not essential for this project.
Additional Notes
This project is worked in 3 separate
pieces and then joined together with
single crochet stitches.

Using W and a 3.0mm crochet hook, ch18, 1sc in 2nd st from hook and in ea st along – (17)

Repeat round 2
Round 6
Ch1 (dcas), 1dc in 1st st from hook and in next st, *5 dccl in next st, 1dc in next 2 sts* repeat til end –

Round 9
Ch1 (dcas), starting in 1st st sc2tog, 1sc in next 4 sts, ch5, sk next st, 1sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog – (11)
Fasten off and tie in tails.
Edging
Round 1
Place both purses pieces on top of each other and using P, at the top of one side, join your two sides
with a sc then crochet 1sc neatly around edge to the other top side of the purse to connect your two
sides completely, do not fasten off.
Round 2
Now join your flap and continue crocheting 1sc along flap edge and purse top edge to join it to your
purse, continue crocheting 1sc around front edge of flap to beginning of your previous 5 chains
(button hole) on flap, *[1sc, 1dc, 1tr, 1dc, 1sc] in next st, sk next st* repeat twice, [1sc, 1dc, 1tr, 1dc,
1sc] in next st, 1sc neatly around rest of flap edge to finish, fasten off and tie in tails.
Finishing
Sew your button onto the front of your purse, making sure it aligns with your button hole on your
flap.
