March-August 2014
We’ve been dreaming up new ways to enjoy quilting and sewing. This past fall, Cathy started Scrap Happenin’s
to use up our scraps in a multitude of ways. It’s been sort of a mystery experience as each participant is told what sizes to
cut for the blocks made in class. We’ve had some good food and lots of camaraderie with new friends being made! Kathy
is starting a new event called “Bag It!” with a healthy lunch or dinner and a bag making experience. We are even going
to hold a Saturday Mystery Event in May.
On June 20th and 21st, we’re having an “Embroidery Extravaganza” where you can learn how to embroider at any
time during those two days. We’ll conduct “on the spot” classes in basic stitches with all supplies included. There will be
a display of all kinds of embroidery patterns and supplies. Embroidery is a great take-a-long project for summertime.
We’ll even show you what to do with it when you are finished!!
Watch our Facebook page, emails and website for updates on new classes we create. Do we have your newest
email address? Have you “liked” us on Facebook so you get our newsfeeds? There’s so much to discover in the sewing
and quilting world that the newsletter is just a start!!
Happy Sewing and Quilting, Kathy & Cathy
Class Definitions-Beginner classes are for every one! The others require a little more skill. Read on...

In November, we started this 5 hour event to use up our scraps
and create beautiful blocks that could be used for quilts,
throws, table toppers, or wall hangings. Each class is different
and results in different block possibilities. There is a board in
the shop that shows some of our creations. Join us for one of
these events. Eventually there will be a pattern you can
purchase to use up your own scraps if you missed the event or
just like to sew at home.
Cathy provides a delicious meal, bag of goodies and a pattern.
All you have to provide is the scraps and sewing supplies. We
have had a really rip-roaring good time together! Here’s the
latest event schedule.

STASH MYSTERY QUILT
Most quilts we start are a bit of a mystery because we don’t
know what our fabric will look like cut up in a pattern. This is
even more of a mystery because each month you’ll get a clue.
Use what you have in your stash. It’s a 2 color quilt. You’ll
pay once for the right to get clues for 6 months. We will
display possible combination of colors to help you choose
your fabrics. The colors can be a variety of fabrics like 6 reds
and 6 blues with a background of cream. What a great way to
use those fabrics you have been collecting in an exciting new
way!! Cost $12 total
