A Living Rosary for Peace
Sunday 10th May at 3.30pm in Our Lady of
Lourdes Church.
Calling on parishioners of every generation to join
in praying the Rosary in the month of May.
Hopefully we will have enough people interested
so that each Hail Mary, Our Father, Glory Be can
be led by a different person. We want pray for
peace in Africa, Asia, Europe, Americas and
Oceania. At the beginning of each decade we hear
about some of the issues we want God to help
resolving. We will think about how justice brings
true peace and how each of us can help create
and sustain it.
We will end this gathering with a buffet. If you can
bring a salad, cheese, strawberries or cream to
the shared table pleases let Fr Atli or Sheila Ball
know.
Please consider coming along and place your
names on the list in Church.
Praying with the Pope in May

our neighbours who suffer,

help Christians in secularized
cultures be open to proclaiming Jesus.

Something to thing and pray about this week.
How are we to interpret the alternately
serendipitous and disappointing, unexpected and
unpredictable, courses of our lives? What is
happening when death or financial disaster force
us to reconsider what we want from life, when
teachers or mentors find and nurture talent we
didn’t know we had, when we succeed beyond our
wildest imaginings, when managers steer our
careers in fortuitous directions, when we aren’t
offered the job we wanted so badly, when friends
point out opportunities that we didn’t know existed,
or when we persist in pursuing a personal passion
against all odds of success, only to find that
success and fulfillment eventually come? Do such
cases merely vindicate human ingenuity,
resilience, fortitude, and imagination? Or is God,
too, at work in some ineffable way, as Hopkins
says, “play[ing] in ten thousand places / Lovely in
limbs, and lovely in eyes not his”? Well, why not
both?
