The Director’s Cut
Well what a start to our Second Chapter riding season. Starting with chilly ride-outs’ to
Rhossili, Llandovery, Brecon, Llanarthney and Abergavenny. The Chapter Mileage
Challenge launch event in the dealership, New Member Familiarisation Training,
Dealerships Second Birthday Party and more recently two very well attended Rallies to
Talgarth and the Cider Rally. I must say, we are only in Early May and we have done so
much. Thing are only going to get busier for the next six months with a packed riding
and rally programme.
Congratulations to Victoria Butrimas and Paul Martin for picking up trophies at the
Cider Rally for their best Ladies Bike and Best Tourer.

A big thank you must go our to our very committed road crew for organizing all these
rides and especially for the mid-week rides led by Sarah and Darran, giving our
members more scope to get out there riding.
If you haven’t already completed your Chapter Challenge Mileage Form and taken it
down to the dealership, please do join us in this fun competition. You will also earn
your HOG Mileage patches along the way. A form is available to download on our
Website, or you can pick one up at the dealership.
A mention also to our own Dragon Fever Rally from 31st July – 2nd August 2015. Tickets
and accommodation is still available and we urge members who are thinking of joining
us, to come forward and give Steve Link your names. Please remember that this is your
rally and we really do need Black Mountains member support to keep it an annual
event.
I‘m really looking forward to riding and socializing with you all over the coming months
and don’t forget, the next big trip is Ireland Bikefest on 29th May – 1st June 2015 in
Killarney. This is a free rally and Killarney has lots of hotels and campsites to choose
from. To date 24 Black Mountains members are signed up to join the Irish festivities.
Keep a look out in the dealership for our new notice board, which John Watson is
kindly keeping up to date of forthcoming events etc. and also keep sending your biking
photos into Tristan our Webmaster ( [email protected] ) who will
post them on our Website and Facebook page.

Tintern Village Fete
Black Mountains HOG have been invited to the
Tintern Summer Fete.
This year it is being held on Saturday, 4th July
from 12 noon until late in the evening and because of the date it will have an American
theme.
The fete is taking place on Leyton's field, a
large area used for cricket opposite Tintern
Abbey and adjacent to the main road (A466)
between Chepstow and Monmouth.
The Tintern Village Fete committee feels that
the site is possibly the most attractive in Monmouthshire and is a natural venue to display
vintage/classic vehicles, being opposite the
world renowned Abbey, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and on the route of the popular and picturesque Wye Valley run.
This would be an attractive ride out for the
Chapter
Last year they had over 25 vintage cars attend
from the South Wales area.. As a consequence
and in particular because of the American
theme Tintern Village Fete would like to invite
our club and members to send some Harley's
for display.
They are also planning to have a few individual
Harley's attending as well as some American
cars. There is plenty of space on the field which
has a stable foundation and the area's for the
vehicles would be safe and secure.
4th July 2015
The details of the fete are still being worked on
but the Tintern Village Fete Committee are
planning for a full days programme and expect
a large attendance from the local community
and the many visitors to the Abbey and the general countryside.
Most of the live music events have already
been booked including Lee McCrory (country
rock) and in the evening "Western Union", an
American style fiddle band. Also booked is a
North American native pioneer show complete
with tepee's.
There are ample toilet facilities and refreshments will be obtainable from the Anchor pub
(including a comprehensive menu), the Village
Hall, the Filling Station café, Emma's Pigs
(burgers and dogs) and various stalls on the
day.
Anyone interested in going please contact John
S Watson Safety Officer/RC will be leading
BMC Ride to the event. Leaving approx 8-9 am
from the dealership.

For some the Swansea H-D 2nd Birthday Party proved a
close shave thanks to Damien and all the team at Six
Men's Hub Grooming Llanelli who came along and did
haircuts and cut throat shaves that went down really well.
All the proceeds went to charity.
