When The Queen Came To Town
Monday, March 16
‘When The Queen Came To Town’ is a must see
documentary, Starring Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth
II, narrated by Bert Newton. This cinema experience will be
unique with a ‘high tea’ provided during the intermission.
Courtesy of Transport NSW there will be a free bus service
provided for this event departing from:
Ungarie: 1.00pm
Barmedman: 1.15pm
Returning buses will depart the Bland Shire Council
Chambers at 4pm.
NB: Free bus service will be dependant upon a minimum
number of bookings.
Bookings are essential for both the bus and movie
screening, please contact the Bland Shire Council on

Tour of The Wetlands
Tuesday, March 17
Come along for a fantastic guided tour of West
Wyalong’s latest attraction, The Wetlands! Guest
speaker Leon Sharpe will discuss the history of the
wetlands project, the native vegetation in the area, the
wild life the wetlands attracts and the recreational
activities that it presents, all while you enjoy a walk
around the area and take in the beautiful native
scenery. Students from Wyalong Public School choir will
also be performing at this event.
A free BBQ lunch and refreshments provided following
the guided tour.

Men’s Shed Open Day
Wednesday, March 18
The West Wyalong Men’s Shed are inviting members of
the public to visit their facilities on Railway Road. You
will be given the opportunity to look at past and
present projects, as well as ask any questions you may
have regarding the Men’s Shed, membership and their
facilities.
There will also be a FREE BBQ at 12pm!

Thursday, March 19
Come along to the West Wyalong Community Care
Centre. There will be many groups attending on the day
including Home and Community Care (HACC), Meals on
Wheels, Community Transport, Care West, Forbes Bland
Home Modifications, Baptist Care and RFBI. This is a
great opportunity to find out any information that you
would like to know about these fantastic services.
Morning tea will be available on the day!

Have you been considering getting back into exercise
but don’t really know where to begin? Then Heart
Foundation Heartmoves may be for you! Come along to
the open day at the Community Care Centre to find out
more about this fantastic program and the many
associated health benefits. You will have the

for classes. There will also be a special morning tea
provided following the class. All current participants
and new comers are very welcome to attend.

Seniors Luncheon
Sunday, March 22
Come along to the annual seniors luncheon at the West
Wyalong Service & Citizens Club. There will be awards
on the day as well as entertainment by Peter Hartwig.
This event is extremely popular each year therefore
bookings are essential. Please contact Bland Shire
Council on 6972 2266 by Monday, March 9 to secure
your place as limited seats are available.
