Thursdays
6.30pm - 7.30pm: Practise
7.30pm - 9.00pm: Matches or Practise
Period 1: Thursday 16th April - Thursday 16th July (14 weeks)
Period 2: Thursday 23rd July - Thursday 27th August (6 weeks)
Format overview:

Relaxed Individual singles competition

Ladder system where players challenge others on the ladder

Points awarded for winning a challenge, with the player losing also gaining points.

Points deducted if challenge is refused

Top 4 players at the end of each period, play semi finals and final to determine
winner.

Prizes will be given to winner & runner up of the play off, as well as winner of the
ladder table.
Cost: £2 each week for members, £3 for non-members
Play as many matches or as few as you wish
Sign up to the ladder Competition, by putting your name down on
the list at the club, or by contacting Paul.
It is not essential that you attend every week, however, it would be
nice to have a regular competition where players attend on a
reasonably regular basis.

Rules of the competition:
1.
All players start with 100 points
2.
Matches are played as challenges. Cannot challenge the same player more than once in the
same week.
3.
If a player rejects a challenge from a player with lower ladder points then that player is deducted 20 ladder points.
4.
If a player rejects a challenge from a player with higher ladder points then that player is deducted 10 ladder points.

Rejections should be advised to the ladder administrator.

Ladder points are earned or lost as follows:



If the WINNER has 50% or more of the ladder points than the LOSER:WINNER gets 20 points
LOSER gets 10 points
Example: Player A has 200 points and wins over Player B who has 100p. New points
would be 220p for A and 110 for B.
If the WINNER has less than 50% of the ladder points of the LOSER:WINNER gets half of the POINTS DIFFERENCE
LOSER is deducted half of the POINTS DIFFERENCE
Example: Player A has 100 points and wins over Player B who has 220 points. New
points would be 160 for A [100 + (220-100/2)] and 160 for B [200 -(200-100/2)]
If the WINNER and the LOSER are within 50% in points of each other:WINNER gets 30 points
LOSER gets 10 points
Example: Player A has 100 points and wins over Player B who has 80 points. New points
would be 130 for A and 90 for B.
Example: Player B (80 points) wins over Player A (100 points) , then new points would be
110 for B and 110 for A.
Top 4 players at the end of the period, play in semi-final and finals to determine the winner of
that period. Semi-finals as follows: 1st vs 4th, 2nd vs 3rd.
