Cardboard Boat Race Challenge Dear Parents and Guardians, The St. Peter Grade 8 students will be participating in the SIEC Cardboard Boat Race Challenge on Friday, May 22nd, 2015. The challenge is a competition that requires students to design and build a boat out of cardboard that will hold a minimum of one person. The students will then race their boats the length of a swimming pool. For the last week the students have started to prepare for the challenge by designing and completing models of their boats. If you would like to see their progress, please use the following link http://mrleschyshyn.weebly.com/ On the day of the challenge, the students will be building their boats at Saskatchewan Polytechnic (formerly SIAST) and then racing the boats at Harry Bailey Pool. What to bring on the May 22nd Students need to bring their own lunch Students must bring their design and model to the competition *If you are piloting your cardboard boat* Bring a swimsuit (students are required to wear a one-piece bathing suit or wear a swim shirt over a two piece bathing suit) Towel Flip-flops or sandals to wear on the pool deck Schedule 9:30am – Bus leaves St. Peter School 10:00am - Arrive at Saskatchewan Polytechnic 10:30am to 12:00 pm – Boat construction 12:00pm to 12:30pm - Clean-up and lunch 1:00pm to 2:00pm - Boat Race and Awards Presentation 2:30pm - Bus pickup at Harry Bailey School Please feel free to contract the school if you have any questions regarding the Cardboard Boat Race Challenge.
