All Schools MTB Championships 1st May Dear Parent Your son has elected to participate in the All Schools Mountain Bike Championships to be held in Launceston at the Kate Reed Reserve on Friday, 1st May. If you give your son permission to attend this event, please sign the form overleaf and have your son return it to the Senior School office before May 1st. On the day: Loading bikes in Hutchins car-park 6:00 – 6:30am Students board bus and depart for Launceston 6:30am Return to Hutchins for collection at approximately 6:00-6:30pm Cost: $15 Racing: 9:00 10:00 10:20 11:15 12:30 2:30 RACE REGO RACE BRIEFING U15 RACE (30-40 mins) U17 RACE (50-60 mins) U19 RACE (70-80 mins) PRESENTATIONS About the event: The Launceston Mountain Bike Club is running the Championships under the umbrella of Mountain Bike Australia, who are providing insurance coverage for the event. The proposed course is safe and is similar to the Kingborough course used for the School sports day. First Aid will be provided on site by Medical Edge. Cycle 2 will also be on site to help with basic bike repairs. LMBC will be providing toilets. Students will need to bring: - Mountain bike with two working brakes. - Helmet - Black Hutchins sports uniform or Hutchins Cycling Jersey. - gloves, footwear, glasses - Rain coat - Cut lunch and a drink. Before the event: Please check your son’s bike and ensure that it is suitable to ride. E.g. drive train is not worn, condition of tyres is good, brakes are working, bolts are tight, and grips are secure.
