Call for content for Vitae Researcher Development International Conference 2015 The established Vitae Researcher
Development International Conference is the largest dedicated event that brings together all those with a strategic
and practical role in developing researchers.
IT services - There are a number of courses available in areas such as programming, visualisation tools and overview
of research computing and a set of special interest groups to discuss up and coming techniques
Cathie Marsh Institute - for Social Research Short Courses on Quantitative Research Methods
The Manchester Enterprise School - This four day residential school aims to increase the employability of Ph.D.
students and research staff by improving their enterprise skills in a highly interactive, group working environment.
Postgraduate Summer Research Showcase 2015 - Following the success of the inaugural Postgraduate Summer
Research Showcase, please save the date for our 2015 event – June 5th.
Academic Writing Tutorial Service - The University Language Centre offers international students a one-to-one
tutorial service to support them with their written academic work. Home students may also be referred for an
appointment if they are experiencing particular difficulties.
2nd TeenTech – We’re looking for input into two of activity zones. Our Challenge Zone (providing a 30 min challenge
for 10 students at a time) or our Insight Zone (providing a 15 min set of activities for groups of ~5 pupils at a time).
Cumberland Lodge Scholarship A two year programme for doctoral students studying at universities
in the UK, designed to fit around their studies.
IB/SynBio seminar series - We are now looking for speakers for the second meeting to be held on Thursday, May
28th.
Pathways – Career Options for Researchers - The morning will consist of “Question and Answer” panel sessions. In
the afternoon, a panel of employers and others will provide advice on the practicalities of getting jobs with a
doctorate, Thursday 4th June, 9 – 5pm.
Standing Up For Science Media Workshop - Sense About Science will be holding a Standing up for Science media
workshop at the University of Warwick on Friday 26th June 2015.
