A Message from Mrs. Lynch
We have revised our procedures for visitors during lunch time and need your help.

Starting this week, there will be assigned “visitor” tables right inside the cafeteria doors where visitors may sit with their child, and a friend, if room permits.

Parents may bring in lunch from an outside restaurant for their child ONLY and not for other students in the cafeteria.

Parents may elect to take their child out of the cafeteria and enjoy lunch in the courtyard but NO other students may leave the cafeteria.
Please remember that we have a full salad bar available to staff and visitors for $3.25. You are welcome
to take advantage of this as you come in for lunch with your child, and it can be charged to your child’s
account. Thank you for your help in following these revised procedures.
Please check out the information on the district volleyball tournament that supports Relay for Life and
the American Cancer Society. It is being held next Wednesday, March 25th and is a great family fun
evening with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. Each school will have a team of staff
members competing in the volleyball tournament and the Rope Warrier will be sharing a special performance before the tournament.
On Thursday and Friday next week we will be welcoming many grandparents and special friends to Oak
Trace. Please be sure to refer to the information in the newsletter regarding the dates and times. Please
remember that we have so many visitors on these two days, we cannot have visitors during lunch, and
ask that visitors please not take the students out for lunch. Thank you for your understanding. If you
have a change of transportation on this day, please communicate this to your child’s teacher as soon as
possible. Next Thursday we also have the fourth grade performance, Delirium, A Travel Through Indiana History.
I hope to see everyone at the Underground Railroad Walk and Run on Saturday morning.
Have a great weekend enjoying the start of March Madness!

Today marks the end of spring safety week. Your students took part in
multiple safety drills throughout the week, including a fire drill, severe
weather drill, bus evacuation drill, and an intruder drill. Each day was a
new drill and the students did a great job with each of them! It is my
hope that you will have a few minutes to talk with your student about
the drills and perhaps even make some safety preparedness plans for your home.
PE ZONE
This week in P.E. we have been working on floor hockey skills. We also are approaching the
end of our Inch & Miles Journey
to Success book. We have been focusing on
one building block a week. So far we learned about Hard Work, Friendship,
Loyalty, Cooperation, Enthusiasm, Self-Control, Alertness, Action, Determination, Fitness, Skill, Team Spirit, Poise, Confidence........ Just two more building
blocks to go!
Have a FITastic weekend.

ART
I would like to welcome Miss Payne to the Oak Trace family. She is currently student teaching for Mrs. Hiatt and will
be taking over teaching art while I am on maternity leave. The students and I are very excited to have her in the art
room. Miss Payne joins us from Butler University.

Next week is the 4th grade’s production of “Delirium: A Trip through Indiana History.” They will perform
on Thursday, March 26 at 7:00 PM on the Westfield High School stage. All students will need to wear all

3rd grade is working hard on “Economan!” They will perform the Thursday after spring break.
We have wrapped up Peter and the Wolf in first grade, and second grade students are listening to Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint Saens.
After spring break kindergarten students will begin working on graduation
