The BCT-designed thin motor enables small size and mass, as well an efficient use of power. The integrated control electronics include digital command and telemetry interface, control algorithms, and performance monitoring functions. The BCT RW1 Reaction Wheel uses a highly efficient, ironless motor and long life hybrid bearing and lubrication system. The wheels undergo extensive testing to characterize their electrical and mechanical performance, including jitter and life test. Induced vibration/jitter is very low, with full 6DOF waterfall plots available and fine balancing available upon request.
