BNCC Meltdown March 28th

BNCC Meltdown March 28th
Doors will open at 7:00am on Saturday.
Play begins at 8:00am and is scheduled to end by 6:00pm.
Round One Pool Play: The first round of pool play will be 2 sets to 21 points (start at 4-4, play to 25), no cap.
Playoffs: Playoff matches will be best 2/3 sets to 25 points (start at 0-0) with a deciding game if necessary to 15, no
caps.
Tie Breaking Procedure Within Pools:
For any 2-way ties that exist, head-to-head point differential will be used. If two teams are tied after head-to-head,
overall point differential will be used. If both teams are still tied, coin flip.
If a 3-way tie exists, overall point differential will be used to rank the teams. If two teams are tied in overall point
differential, their head-to-head point differential will be used to complete the ranking. If they are still tied, coin flip.
Due to time constraints in the building, additional play-off games to break ties within a pool WILL NOT be
scheduled.
Please note that NO outside food or coolers are allowed in the building. Concessions will be available. BNCC
staff will be enforcing this policy in 2015 tournaments.
Work teams (pool play): Each work team must supply at least 6 workers, including a down-official, two line-judges,
scorekeeper, libero tracker and scoreboard flipper. A coach must be present AT the scores table while their team is
working. Work teams will be docked five points on their overall point differential for every minute they are late. If
they are more than 10 minutes late, they will forfeit their entire next match.
Work teams (playoffs): Teams that lose in the playoffs will have to immediately work on the court they just played
unless otherwise noted. You must provide a full work team on your court (1 down-official, 2 line-judges,
scorekeeper, score board flipper). Failure to work a playoff game will result in additional charges to enter future
BNCC / NFVB tournaments.
Warm-ups: For a team’s first match of the day, 2-4-4 (2 minutes shared court time for ball handling, 4 minutes for
the serving team, and 4 minutes for the receiving team). For the rest of the matches (including playoffs), there will
be a 1-3-3 format.
TEAMS MUST SHAG FOR OPPOSING TEAM WHILE THEY HAVE THEIR INDIVIDUAL COURT TIME!
Other Rules:
• Liberos will be allowed to serve in one of the rotation positions.
• Awards will only be given to the winners and the runner up of the Championship Bracket Finals
Protests: All protests will be settled during that point in the match. A protest may not occur after the next point has
begun. Protests will be handled by the tournament director (or designee) and the head official (or designee). A
protest cannot be made on a judgment call.
