Drop Off Time: Wed March 25th and Thursday March 26th 6:00PM - 8:00PM Be A Volunteer And Shop The Pre-Sale! There is a big incentive to volunteer (you don’t need to be an BUMC member) … volunteers who work a minimum of four hours (any combination of WHOLE hours throughout the sale dates) will be allowed to shop the pre-sale prior to opening to the public (and get the choice items from the sale before they are picked-over!). The PreSale is held on Thursday. Being a volunteer is easy and fun! We need help making phone calls, handing out brochures, setting up, cashiers, taggers, floaters during the sale, take-down, greeters, check-out assistants, etC Presale on Thursday Night: 4 hour shift at the sale. On Saturday, March 28th , volunteers are needed from 8 am until 2 pm. All consignors and other volunteers will be invited to shop on Thursday, before the sale is open to the public. You will have first pick of the merchandise before the sale opens to the public. You do not have to consign to volunteer. We greatly appreciate the help of men, women and teens. Volunteer duties include set-up, checking-in and organizing the merchandise, helping customers, checking- out customers and sorting unsold items on both Friday and Saturday. ITEMS ACCEPTED: Children’s and junior’s Spring and Summer clothing and shoes Shoes must be in ziploc bags or tied together and tagged. Boys’ sizes 0-20, girls’ sizes 0-16, and junior sizes Maternity clothing of all sizes **Be realistic in pricing. Maternity does NOT sell well.** Nursing equipment, such as breast pumps, Boppy pillows, slings, bottles, etc. -rearing, nursing, and the like Baby accessories such as bibs, baby tubs, blankets, booster seats, front pack carriers, boppy pillows, bumbo seats, slings, diaper bags Baby and older kids furniture, bedding, and accessories xersaucers, strollers, pack-n-plays, swings, bouncy seats, high chairs, tables, cribs, strollers Children’s books, games, videos, DVDs, and CDs, VHS tapes and they can only be PG or G rated. Non-violent games only, toys, puzzles *sports equipment, Halloween costumes, outerwear, dress-up clothes, holiday clothes, dancewear, Toys (with all their pieces and working batteries *get at dollar tree-only to show working) Large outdoor toys, such as Little Tykes, bikes, etc. Any item involved in a recall is NOT accepted. Please only sell items that you would purchase for your own family. ALL SALES ARE FINAL! ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED: Used sippy cups or bottles and those not in original packaging Underwear Soiled/stained items ***Stuffed animals beds larger than toddler beds will not be accepted. car seats, drop-side cribs, maternity underwear, encyclopedias, pacifiers (even new), teething rings (even new), war toys, weapons, violent games/movies,/books, or copies of videos. Tagging Instructions: It is impossible to over-stress the importance of good quality, legible tags. We highly encourage every consignor to print their tags on cardstock. It is not expensive. One pack of cardstock from Target or Michaels only costs a few dollars and will last you through many sales or you can use a 3x5 index cards If you do not already have a prior consignment # you have used at a prior sale Your assigned 4-digit code—usually the last four digits of your phone #. * The Price. Whole dollar pricing only! Minimum is $1.—. pin (NO straight pins!). with an elastic band. It is recommended that clothing be placed on hangers as it tends to sell better. Items not on hangers (or overflow) will be placed on tables. We are unable to return your hangers to you, however, if we have extra hangers at the end of the sale, you are welcome to take hangers home with you when you pick up unsold items. There are a few stores that freely give them away (e.g. Old Navy) We may have extra hangers, first come, first serve, ask when registering. please note that current season items sell best and you may do better to keep the alternate seasonal items for another sale multiple pieces should be in Ziploc bags and tapped shut Prices must be in increments whole dollars (for ease at check out). Items tagged incorrectly will be rounded down to the correct increment for the consumer. Remember you can always put books in zip-lock bags and tape the label to the bag- TAG EXAMPLE The index card should contain the following information: ID number on the TOP in the center Boy or Girl Brief description of Item Size Price D ½ off y or no You may donate your unsold items or pick them up after the sale. If you plan to donate the item, please note it on your tag with D at the bottom of your tag. The D at the bottom means you plan to donate the item rather than pick it up if it is unsold. 1/2 Price: Y or N If you do NOT want your items to be reduced on 1/2 price day, then the bottom of your tag should say no. Otherwise your item will be discounted by 50% on Saturday. Please use numerical sizes for clothing (i.e., 12-18 months rather than S, M, L). Please make sure your consignor tags are legible! PLEASE DO NOT TAPE LABELS ONTO CLOTHING! THEY WILL FALLOFF! Bookwalter United Methodist church Consignment department is not responsible for tags that are not properly secured. Please tag all items prior to drop off. Please DO NOT use labels or tape on clothing. Merchandise Drop-offs and the Sale Drop Off Time: Wed 6:00 PM - 8:00PM and Thursday 6:00PM - 8:00PM It would be a good idea to schedule a time for drop off, please allow 30 minutes, depending on the quantity of items. Please sort merchandise by size, gender and type before dropping it off -- this will greatly help the volunteers who will receive and display your items. When you arrive, your merchandise will be checked to ensure it is tagged properly and is ready to be received into the sale. Please be sure your items are clean and tagged properly or they will not be accepted for the sale. 2. Shop the sale! There will be many great bargains available on all types of clothes, shoes, accessories, toys and anything to do with children. As a consignor and/or volunteer, you will be allowed to shop before the sale begins. You may purchase items Thursday 6:00PM - 8:00PM. You can be among the first to choose from the consigned goods. 3. Please be at Bookwalter United Methodist Church between 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm on Saturday, MARCH 28th to pick up any unsold items you did not designate for donation. All items not picked up by 4:30 pm will be donated to charity – no exceptions. Bookwalter United Methodist Church is not responsible for any theft or damage to property during the sale. You may leave a large tote with your consignment # labeled, we will attempt to gather your left overs and place them in the tote, for quicker pick up Volunteers working 4 hours will make 80% of the sale price. All other Community consignors will receive 70% of the sales price. A $5 consignor fee will be assessed and subtracted from your profits. All checks not deposited within 60 days will be voided and consignors will forfeit these funds. 4. Checks should be mailed within 15 business days after the close of the sale. Our Kid's Consignment Sales are held in the Fellowship Hall. Saturday is half price day when many of our items will be marked down 50%. Our preview sale for volunteers ONLY is held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Anyone can sign up to be a volunteer. Pricing your items: Price your items to sell quickly (especially 12 months and smaller). People expect to get a bargain at a consignment sale. Please note there are more potential buyers on Thursday and Friday than on ½ price day – so you will be most successful if your prices are attractive to those full-price shoppers. Good Rule of Thumb: ¼ of the new price is the item is in good condition. 1/3 of the new price if the item is like-new or never worn. 3. Evaluate you prices without emotion – would you pay that price for that item? 4. Whole dollar pricing only!! Write prices in whole dollar amounts as a dollar $1. This makes the price easier to read. And items not in whole dollar increments will be marked down to the nearest whole dollar at check out. 5. Prices must begin at a minimum of $1. Smaller items may be sold together. Some items may not be accepted due to stains or signs of wear. In addition, we reserve the right to remove any clothes that are damaged, out of season, or soiled. Items that are removed from the sale may not be returned. 5. Bookwalter United Methodist Church and its affiliates, and volunteers are not responsible for any clothing that is lost, stolen, or damaged during the sale. 6. All checks will be mailed as soon as possible. **** You will be notified by email when they go out, please allow at least 4 weeks for receipt of your check. 7. We will make every effort to replace missing tags with their proper items, but are not liable for items that are missing tags. 8. If an item has a tag that is missing a price, Bookwalter United Methodist Church will price the item at standard market value for the sale.
