Print out the PDF/Jpeg of the numbers or draw them out and turn over. Using a
window or a light box so that you can see the design through, trace the numbers
through onto bondaweb (paper side) so your design is in reverse
Lay out your printed swatches in the pattern as shown on the finished picture
Roughly cut out each number (not up to the line)
Iron numbers 1, 6, 7, 12, 15, 18, 19 and 22 onto white felt and the rest onto red
felt and cut out up to the lines
3 Applique

Peel bondaweb paper backing off each number and place in the centre of each
individual pocket (folded over section at the top)
Iron on, using a little steam in your iron so that the felt firmly sticks to the fabric

Arrange your pockets in order and pin down leaving a few millimetres between
each pocket and a little extra between pockets 7-9 to balance out tree shape
Sew around the three raw edges of each pocket using a zigzag stitch
Take the strip of printed fabric10cm x 67cm
Fold in each side 1cm and sew a straight stitch
Fold in half length ways and pin at top of advent calendar 1cm from top then sew
down
Take your red ribbon and cut 4 pieces 15cm each
Fold each in half and pin at equal distances across the top of the advent calendar
Using one of the beautiful woven ribbons available cut a piece 67cm and sew
across the bottom seam of the printed fabric and 4 ribbon loops to hold in place,
tucking in at either edge for a neat finish
Take a piece of stiffener and thread through the top printed section to hold the
calendar in place and hang up
There you have it, a lovely advent calendar that you
can hang up, fill with treats and use year after year!
