FREE Rain Barrel Workshop 1 ‐ 3 p.m. * Saturday, April 11, 2015 Lehigh County Authority (LCA), 1053 Spruce Street, Wescosville, PA 18106 Thank you for participating in the 2015 Rain Barrel Workshop! We are hopeful you will leave the event
with the materials and information you need to begin using naturally occurring rainwater for your outdoor
water needs.
As a participant in this workshop, please be aware of the following:
 Your rain barrel is provided to collect rain
water from down spouts from your roof.
Please be aware that this water is not safe for
drinking water and should be used only for
outdoor uses such as gardening, lawn
watering or car-washing.
 Your rain barrel and starter-kit materials are
being provided to you at no cost, and results
are not guaranteed. We will provide you with
instructions for installation at your home, but
you are responsible for obtaining any
additional supplies required for the
installation of the system at your property. In
addition, you are responsible for the actual
installation, function and ongoing safe
operation of your rain barrel system.
 Your 55-gallon rain barrel must
be properly installed and secured
to prevent tipping or injury. This
is your responsibility.
 Heavy rains will cause your rain
barrel to fill up quickly and
overflow. Guidelines on how to
set up your overflow system will be provided,
but every property is different and may
require modifications to the guidelines
provided to direct overflow to the appropriate
location.
 Guidelines will be provided to help you
prevent mosquito growth in or around your
rain barrel system. However, it is your
responsibility to properly install and maintain
the system at your property.
