“SUMMER BLAST” INVITATIONAL
RULES
1. ELIGIBILITY – This Invitational Event is open to all High School Boys and Girls who are registered
members of the ISBPA Grand Prix Scholarship program for the 2014-15 season and comply with the
following:
a. Is a High School Boy or Girl – Classes of 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
b. Has bowled in an organized Youth League during the 2014-2015 Season (minimum of 21 games
required).
2. RESERVATIONS – This tournament will accept the application of entry via mail or fax. Entry is not
complete until Entry Fee is paid. Entry deadline is June 4, 2015. NO ENTRIES WILL BE
ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE. ON-SITE REGISTRATION IS NOT ACCEPTED!
3. AVERAGES & HANDICAPS – The average used to compute handicaps will be the bowler’s highest
average for 21 or more games as of the final 2014-15 season-ending average including high school
leagues, if applicable. Handicaps will be based on 90% between the difference of the Bowler’s Average
and 210.
a. Entry forms that have not been verified and/or signed will be rejected. Entry Fee of $10 must
accompany entry application.
FORMAT
4. All competitors will bowl three games on a single pair of lanes.
5. Scholarship Prizes will be awarded on a 1:6 ratio for each of the Boys and Girls divisions, based on actual
three-game score plus handicap.
PRIZES & FEES
The Boy’s & Girl’s Champions will each receive a $1,500 guaranteed scholarship prize. One in every six
additional entries in each division will also be awarded Scholarship Certificates based on the Final Position
Standings. A total of $6,000 in scholarships will be awarded.
a. A $150 Scholarship Bonus will be awarded to the highest placing Graduating Senior Boy and Girl,
regardless of Final Standings.
Scholarship Certificates must be redeemed within 24 months of Graduation from High School.
Payment will be issued to the recipient’s designated educational institution and may be applied towards
tuition, fees and/or books.
6. FEES – This is an Invitational Event. Entry Fee is $10.00. Entry Fee must be paid in advance and is
NOT REFUNDABLE. Include check made payable to “Foundation of the ISBPA” with entry
application.
The Illinois State Bowling Proprietors Association will administer this event. All matters not covered by these
rules will be determined by the ISBPA Tournament Director and all decisions will be final.
