March 16, 2015 BP EVEREST 42 AND MYSTIQUE 42 ARE NOW FLATTER! By incorporating a thinner surfacing zone right across the shingle in the head lap, we have produced a bundle that reduces the telescoping effect resulting into a much flatter shingle. This translates in an easier installation and a more uniform appearance, especially in cold weather application. As this modification is applied to the hidden part of the shingle (head lap), it has no incidence on the visual aspect of the installed product. The Everest 42 and Mystique 42 shingles produced before and after this change can be mixed on the same roof. Moreover, this improvement does not affect in any way how shingles are manipulated and installed. NOTES TO THE ROOFING CONTRACTOR The thinner surfacing zone added to the BP Everest 42 and Mystique 42 shingles changes nothing to the installation conditions and requirements. To obtain the 180 km/h warranty against wind blow off, 4 nails must be installed on the nailing line. For the High Wind Warranty at 220 km/h, 6 nails must be installed on the nailing line. Nailing line Thinner surfacing zone 6 nails must also be installed on the nailing line when shingles are installed on roofing slopes equal or greater than 15/12. -2-
