INTERNATIONAL START-UP COMPANY BPM-D MOVING TO UNIVERSITY
TECHNOLOGY PARK IN CHESTER
Chester, Pa.—BPM-D and University Technology Park announced today that BPM-D, an
international start-up company that helps businesses reach their full potential through business
process management (BPM), will move to University Technology Park in Chester on May 1.
BPM-D has a presence in the United States, the United Kingdom and India. Clients for BPM-D
consulting, coaching and training offerings include large international organizations and mid-size
companies primarily in the telecommunications/high tech, health/pharmaceuticals, financial and
consumer goods industries. BPM-D has 21 team members, many of them former or current
Widener University students.
University Technology Park, which opened in 1999, is a partnership between Widener
University and Crozer-Keystone Health System to spur economic development in the city of
Chester. The goal of the partnership is the creation of a knowledge-based economy in the
region. Current tenants at University Technology Park include the Riverfront Alliance of
Delaware County, the Widener University Small Business Development Center and the CrozerKeystone Health System Patient Services Center and Human Resources Department.
“We feel honored to have the opportunity to move into the University Technology Park. This
will help us to work even closer with Widener University, offering jobs, internships and co-ops
to Widener students,” said Dr. Mathias Kirchmer, managing director and co-CEO of BPM-D.
“As part of our business development plans, we also want to help Chester and local businesses to
move to the next level by enabling them to be faster, cheaper, more agile and more innovative
through our effective and sustainable approach to process management, based on the patent–
pending BPM-D Framework.”
Kirchmer, has been an adjunct professor in the Widener University School for Business
Administration for more than 10 years, and has been member of the School of Business
Administration Advisory Board since its inception. He has worked for more than 20 years in the
BPM field, including positions as CEO of IDS Scheer Americas and managing director for BPM
at Accenture.

III. “Their presence adjacent to the university will provide more opportunities for collaboration
with Widener faculty and experiential learning opportunities for our students.”
