Goal: Group develops a plan for their presentation
Materials/Preparations: paper and pencils to draw ideas; make space in dramatization to dance
Launch/Provocation: suggest that the group creates a dance about recycling (based on entry point knowledge – all children in this group have
an interest in dance)
Examples to show the group related to this suggestion: 1-minute video clip of a dance inspired by MLK’s “I Have a Dream” speech

Plan for documenting: video the dance in progress
Other considerations: ask Kenya to take notes for the group (based on entry point knowledge about her)
Meeting 2: Executing
Goal: Group revisits plan and feedback, begins to execute the plan
Materials/Preparations: original plan and feedback from class; paper and pencils to note revisions
Launch: revisit plan and feedback, revisit Kenya’s notes
Plan for documenting: video the dance in progress
Other considerations: Sam was absent from Meeting 1, so ask Kenya, Maurice and Tova to get him up to speed
Meeting 3: Executing continued
Goal: Group finishes executing the plan
Materials/Preparations: paper for props in dance, laptop to show video
Re-launch: show group’s dance video from Meeting 2
Plan for documenting: continue video
Other considerations: use feedback from class to help resolve disagreement about using props (Maurice in favor, Tova against)
Meeting 4: Revising
Goal: Group revises work based on class feedback
Materials/Preparations: laptop; cue up possible background music for dance
Re-launch: revisit feedback from Thinking & Feedback meeting, watch video again
Plan for documenting: video final performance to have available for Celebration (in case a child is absent; to share with families)
Other considerations: feedback from group was to have background music; if there isn’t consensus, have group seek input from Tyree & Felix
