Delivering supported holidays for adults with learning disabilities since 1998
Welcome...
and we really hope you enjoy browsing through the range of supported holidays on offer
for 2015. This year there’s more choice than ever with a great mix of new holidays and old
favourites, and over 90% of our holiday prices are the same as last year’s.
New for 2015 is our holiday to Finland and Estonia, and back by popular demand is a holiday to
Austria for a “Sound Of Music” themed break exploring Salzburg and the locations from the film.
We’re also going to Cadbury World, exploring the country lanes and cream teas of Devon, and further afield we’re taking a journey to
visit the pilgrimage destination of Lourdes in the Pyrenees.
Closer to home we’re returning to Blackpool and Great Yarmouth; always popular with their traditional seaside fun and attractions.
Great Yarmouth also makes an excellent base for exploring Norfolk and the surrounding area, with supported holidays for animal
lovers, a trip to the Thursford Christmas Spectacular, or a pizza-party just some of the many breaks on offer there this year.
Our other favourite destination is France. The farmhouse is a real gem, set in the middle of the French countryside but close to a host
of things to see and do. With a great range of holidays based here, including our own mini festival, come along to enjoy the heated
pool and crazy golf, games room, garden and outdoor dining area. In the cooler months there’s a comfy lounge with a log fire to
keep you warm, and whatever time of year you go there’s always plenty of home cooked food, a trip to the coast or a local auberge
for a hearty lunch.
We want to support you appropriately during your holiday so that you have a really good, and safe, time. You, or the person booking
your holiday for you, must tell us about all of your support needs at the time of booking – if we don’t know your full needs we can’t

Booking
What’s included
Booking procedure - 3 easy steps
Step 1
Choose your break, or call us for help choosing the
right one.
Support
The base price of your holiday includes 24 hour support for basic needs - full details
can be found on Page 6. Basic support does not include provision for waking nights.
Support is provided by HELP Personal Assistant Services (CQC Reg No: RGP11427874143).
Step 2
Call us to discuss your support requirements and to
pay your deposit. This can be paid over the phone by
card or by sending a cheque with your completed
Booking Form.
Step 3
Complete your Customer Support Profile.
Deposits and balance payments
Holidays can be secured with a non-refundable
deposit of £75. Your full balance payment is due 60
days prior to departure.
Additional charges and upgrades
You can upgrade to our “door-to-door” service for an
additional charge. This service is provided by our DBS
cleared taxi team, and you may be collected by taxi
and not by our minibus – please advise us of any extra
equipment such as wheelchairs that you will need to
bring with you. Customers who wish to specify male
or female drivers or additional chaperones must
request this at the time of booking. A charge will
be made for this service. If you require a single room,
for your comfort or because of sleep problems, this is
charged on a nightly rate – please request this when
booking as we have limited single rooms available.
Insurance
Travel Insurance
You must buy travel insurance appropriate for the
destination to which you are travelling, including the
UK, to travel with us. It is your responsibility to ensure
you have adequate cover for cancellation, curtailment,
illness and medical expenses plus loss or damage to
your property. Please see our section on Cancellation
in our full terms and conditions.
Documents
Passports, EHIC cards and Visas
It is your responsibility to hold a valid passport and
appropriate visas for travel outside the UK and for
UK holidays which include a flight. We strongly
recommend that you obtain an EHIC card for all travel
to Europe. If you cannot provide a valid passport at
the time of departure you will not be able to travel
outside the UK, or fly with us within the UK, and will
not be entitled to a refund.

Accommodation
The type of accommodation is shown in the icon panel for each holiday. Some of
our accommodation is unsuitable for those who cannot climb stairs easily or are fully
reliant on wheelchairs. so please check at the time of booking
Transport
Travel from one of our set pick-up points is included, and the mode of travel for each
holiday can be seen on the relevant brochure page. You can pay to upgrade to our
door-to-door service by requesting this at the time of booking.
Towels
We supply towels for holidays based at the Guest House in Gt Yarmouth, and at the
farmhouse in France. We do not provide face cloths.
Full Board - our definition
Our Full Board holidays include breakfast, a light lunch plus an evening meal. We adopt
a flexible approach to meals and like to serve whatever is appropriate according to
our location, the weather and the day’s activities.
Meals are home cooked or taken in hotels, restaurants and cafes. For example, some
days we will have a continental breakfast and on others something cooked, lunch
could be a picnic or a light meal in a cafe or auberge. Evening meals range from a
home cooked supper to a BBQ or buffet, or where appropriate could be a meal in a
pub or restaurant of our choice.
Drinks
Early morning tea or coffee, drinks with breakfast and water or squash with meals are
included. All other drinks must be paid for by the customer.
Snacks, sweets and ice creams
Customers can purchase these at their own expense.
Days out and attractions
The cost of daily trips out (but not entrance fees unless specified) are included.
Photographs
We provide a small selection of photographs as a souvenir of your holiday. These will
be printed and sent to you shortly after you return from your holiday.

Medication
Medical Support
Holiday Blister packs
It is essential for your safety that you bring your medication in
clearly labelled holiday blister packs or dossette boxes. Please
ask your pharmacist to provide you with your medication for
your holiday in this format – most pharmacies offer this as a
free service to regular customers. We are unable to accept
medication in packets, bottles (unless liquids) or for periods
exceeding the holiday duration. However, for holidays abroad
please ensure that you have enough medication for one extra
day in case of unforeseen travel delays.
Catheters and Stoma care
We do not offer clinical or medical support as part of
our standard support package. If you use a catheter
or require assistance with stoma care you must tell us
before you book as we will be unable to assist without
prior knowledge.
Insulin
Please advise us if you need to travel with insulin so that we can store it appropriately.
It is essential that if you need assistance with insulin we are made aware
at the time of booking. We do not administer insulin by injection,
although we will support you in selecting the right dosage and in self
administration.
Help and advice
If you have any questions relating to your medical
support needs whilst on holiday please call our office
before you book and travel. We are happy to discuss
your requirements and to work with you to put the
right support in place, either from our courier team or
from health professionals.
Laxatives
Please be aware that the change in diet on a holiday may result in
people needing less of their prescribed laxative than usual. We will refer
to the primary care provider if a problem occurs.
It is essential that we know about any
issues at the time of booking. You must
read our Terms and Conditions relating
to support and support charges before
booking as paying your deposit will
create a contract between us.
What to pack
Choosing the right bag
Due to space limitations
and Health & Safety issues
you must keep luggage to
one medium suitcase or
holdall, weighing no more
than 18kg, and no larger
than 65cm x 45cm, as per
the picture on the left, plus
one small piece of hand
luggage or handbag. The only exception is
when travelling on continental holidays where
we have requested that you pack an overnight
bag. We reserve the right to refuse to take, or
charge extra for, luggage that exceeds these
dimensions. If your holiday includes a flight
please call us to check baggage allowances.
Packing the right clothes
It is important to pack for the weather at
your destination. If you are unsure of what
conditions to expect please contact us before
departure. If there is a pool at your destination
you will need to pack swim wear and a swim
towel.
Shoes, jackets and coats
We advise a maximum of 3 pairs of shoes or
trainers, one warm waterproof coat for autumn
and winter breaks, or a lightweight waterproof
jacket at other times.
Towels and toiletries
You should pack a toothbrush, toothpaste,
flannel, soap/shower gel and shampoo. Gents
should pack either electric shavers with an
appropriate charging plug for their destination
or shaving foam and new razors. You do not
need to pack a towel for hotel stays, or if you
are visiting our Guest House in Yarmouth, or
our farmhouse in France as we supply towels
at these destinations. You will need to pack
a towel for breaks to all other locations apart
from hotels.

Sanitary Towels and continence
Please ensure you have sufficient sanitary and/
or continence supplies for your holiday. If you
need a large quantity of continence supplies

Please remember to pack any bed or seating
protection that you would normally use.
Spending money
All of our breaks are full board - please see the
relevant description of our Full Board package
on the previous page.
Radios, CD players and mobile phones
Many customers choose to travel with mobile
phones and music equipment. Whilst we are
able to accept i-Pods and phones, larger items
cannot be accommodated in luggage. We also
ask that you are considerate of your fellow
travellers and do not disturb others with your
music or conversation. You may be asked to sit
to the rear of the bus if you are often
Cameras and other valuables
Many customers bring a camera on holiday.
We are happy for people to bring their own
camera and take photos, but can accept no
responsibility for its safe-keeping or that of any
other valuables. Please note that we always
send holiday photos to everyone at the end of
each trip.
You will need spending money for all drinks
and snacks and you will have to pay for all
entrance fees not included in your holiday
package.
We always recommend a minimum amount
for each break, to cover basics and anticipated
extra entrance fees, in our holiday itinerary
sent prior to travel. However if you wish to
buy souvenirs and gifts you will need to bring
more. Bear in mind that a cola or coffee on the
continent could cost you €5 each and you’d
probably want at least four drinks each day.

Support
Support is at the heart of what we do. It sets us apart from other holiday
companies and is the reason you travel with us. We can’t stress enough the
importance of disclosing to us your full support needs when you book your
supported holiday.
Each year we have a number of customers who try to travel with us without telling us
about their full needs until they are about to depart, even though we ask in advance
and work through a support profile with each individual customer. Often this results
in disappointment as they are unable to travel because we will not have put in place
the support they require.
This is easily avoided - all you, or the person booking your holiday, has to do is be
honest with us. We can only provide the support you require if you tell us your full
support needs before you travel. We will always tell you about extra support charges
before you confirm your booking. A basic level of support is included and you must
not withold information about your support needs because you want to avoid paying
additional support charges. In fact you are likely to be charged a lot more if we have
to arrange expensive last minute support and invoice you after your holiday, or you
could lose the money you’ve paid for your holiday if we are unable to take you with us.
Basic Support included
24 hour support from experienced couriers is included in the base price of your
holiday for basic needs such as help with water temperatures for baths and
showers, assistance with hair washing and shaving, sorting (but not laundering)
clothing. Please see below for specific support information and refer to our full
Terms and Conditions for more information about support and your obligation to
disclose your full support needs before booking and travelling. Support is provided
by HELP Personal Assistant Services (CQC Reg No: RGP1-1427874143).
Support Profiles
We ask all customers to complete a support profile detailing their full and exact
support needs with daily, living, medication, medical and other conditions, mobility,
communication, continence and dietary requirements. It is your responsibility to
provide us with accurate up-to-date information for each holiday you book. As our
customers’ needs change over time we do not usually “carry-over” support profiles
from one holiday to the next so you may be required to complete a profile for each
hoiday you book. We take no responsibility for costs and consequences arising from
any undisclosed support requirements.
Full disclosure, and your responsibilities
Please contact us to discuss your support requirements to ensure we deliver the
appropriate accommodation and support for your needs. It is essential that we are
made fully aware of your support needs as failing to do so results in understaffing and
restricts the activities you can take part in. We reserve the right to refuse travel and to
curtail trips if support needs have not been fully disclosed on your booking forms and
support profile. The full costs of curtailment in these circumstances will be charged to
the customer.
Night time waking
We do not provide waking night cover unless this has been requested and paid for at
the time of booking.
Wandering
Please advise us at time of booking if your safety may be compromised by wandering
away from the group, so that we can put appropriate measures and staffing in place.
It is very important to tell us if you may sleep walk or wander at night.

Continence
If you have any problems with continence, or suffer
from night-time incontinence, please advise us at time
of booking so that we can ensure the right protection is
in place for your comfort. Please ensure you travel with
appropriate supplies for your needs.
Undisclosed or excessive incontinence that results in
damage to bedding or furnishings will be charged.
Challenging behaviour
Customers who display challenging behaviour should
make us aware of their individual communication
needs to ensure we can respond appropriately in
all situations whilst on holiday. Please note that our
holidays are not suitable for people who display
physically challenging behaviour.
Sleep Apnoea and snoring
Please advise us at time of booking if you need to use
Sleep Apnoea equipment or if you are a heavy snorer.
These conditions can disturb other customers and you
may need to book a single room.
Socialising
Making friends and being part of a group is an
important part of the holiday. If you have difficulties
taking part in group activities, are uncomfortable in
noisy or busy social groups, or present challenging
behaviour in group situations, please advise us so we
can offer you appropriate support.
Food and drink
Please advise us of any dietary requirements at time of
booking and in your customer support profile. Please
also advise us of any recommendations relating to the
consumption of alcohol.
One-to-one support
Individuals with high needs can be accommodated
on most holidays with a one-to-one courier. This
increases the cost of the holiday to cover the costs
of the personal courier.

A February Escape
Escape the dreary February weather and come with us to the Potters resort on the
Norfolk coast. This midweek show-break offers great entertainment every evening,
and plenty of things to do during the day including swimming in the warm indoor
pool. Other options for daytime activities include use of their extensive sports and
leisure facilities, a pitch and putt course, bowls, pool or snooker and many other
activities.
Evening entertainment from the Potters Theatre Company could transport
you to the world of the musicals or back in time with tribute acts.

Please ensure that you read all the information provided
Payment of your holiday deposit confirms your whole agreement to and acceptance of all the terms
and conditions set out below including all additional charges and costs that may be incurred.
1. BOOKING
Enquiries are welcome by phone but bookings can only be secured
with payment of a nonrefundable deposit of £75 per person per
break, followed by a completed and signed booking form. You must
complete the form fully and disclose all special requirements. Your
booking should be accompanied by details of your personal travel
insurance. All cheques must be made payable to Breakaway Ltd. If
your holiday starts within 90 days of booking the full cost is payable
with your booking form. Prices are subject to change and should be
confirmed prior to booking. You should also check which excursions
are included in the price of your holiday, together with the cost of
single room supplements if required and support charges.
2. WHAT IS INCLUDED
Accommodation, travel from one of our set pick-up points (including
cross-channel travel and flights where required), daily trips out (but
not the cost of entrance fees unless specified), meals. 24 hour support
from experienced couriers restricted to basic needs such as help
with water temperatures for baths and showers, assistance with hair
washing and shaving, sorting (but not laundering) clothing. Support
does not include provision for waking nights - if you require this
please tell us before booking. Please see below for specific support
information.
Our Full Board holidays include breakfast, a light lunch plus an evening
meal. We adopt a flexible approach to meals and like to serve whatever is
appropriate according to our location, the weather and the day’s activities.
Meals are home cooked or taken in hotels, restaurants and cafes. For
example, some days we will have a continental breakfast and on others
something cooked, lunch could be a picnic or a light meal in a cafe or
auberge. Evening meals range from a home cooked supper to a BBQ or
buffet, or where appropriate could be a meal in a pub or restaurant of our
choice. Early morning tea or coffee, drinks with breakfast and water or
squash with meals are inlcuded. All other drinks must be paid for by the
customer. Customers can purchase snacks, sweets and ice creams at their
own expense.
3. SUPPORT
Please contact us to discuss your support requirements for any daily,
medical, dietary, mobility and communication support not covered in
Section 2. It is essential that we are made fully aware of your support
needs as failing to do so may result in understaffing and so restrict the
activities in which you are able to take part. Additionally, we reserve
the right to refuse travel where support needs have not been fully
disclosed on our booking form and in this circumstance you waive all
and any right to refund of monies paid. All supplements are payable
in advance. All costs incurred as a result of laundering soiled and/or
wet clothing and linen will be invoiced at the end of the holiday. Costs
incurred through non-disclosure of support needs, inappropriate
packing, excess baggage or failure to supply all required medication
and personal hygiene products will be invoiced at the end of the
holiday. Support is provided by HELP Personal Assistant Services
(CQC Reg No: RGP1-1427874143).
3a. MEDICAL SUPPORT
It is essential that we are notified if you have the following conditions
to ensure we can provide appropriate support: epilepsy, diabetes,
asthma, heart and respiratory conditions. Please note that in the
event of a medical emergency we will access services available locally
and we do not provide medical assistance. All customers must travel
with a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for European holidays
outside the UK. Please note that whilst a EHIC covers most urgent
medical costs this varies from country to country and some costs are
likely to be incurred.
3b. CONTINENCE
You must tell us if you have issues with continence so that we can
make adequate provision during the day and night. You should
supply your own continence products, ensuring that you bring
enough to last for the duration of your holiday including those days
spent travelling to and from your destination. We reserve the right
to charge for laundering wet or soiled linen and clothing, and for
cleaning of furniture and vehicle seats.
4. DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
Please inform us in advance if you have a food allergy or intolerance,
or special dietary requirements to ensure that we can cater for you. If
you have complex dietary requirements a diet sheet or menu must
be provided, together with all food items not readily available in your
country of destination. There is a supplementary charge for some
special dietary needs.
5. COMMUNICATION NEEDS
Please make us aware when booking your holiday if you require
support for Autistic Spectrum Disorder, visual, hearing or sensory
impairment so that we can provide appropriate support. There may
be a supplementary charge for some communication support needs.
6. COMPLEX NEEDS
Some holidays are unsuitable for customers with complex needs.
However we have vehicles and accommodation which are suitable if
you have a combination of physical and learning disabilities. We are
always happy to discuss your requirements and will do what we can
to help.
7. CHALLENGING BEHAVIOUR
If you display challenging behaviour you should make us aware of
your individual communication needs to ensure we can respond
appropriately in all situations whilst on holiday. Please note that
our holidays are not suitable for people who display physically
challenging behaviour.
8. PHYSICALITY
You must disclose at the time of booking and on your support profile
if you require reinforced sleeping or seating equipment or you
require additional seating space on vehicles and any other mode of
transportation in order to accommodate your physical size.

9. MEDICATION
We are only able to hold your medication when supplied in purpose
made holiday blister packs, where dosages are pre-measured with the
correct combination and quantity of medication in each compartment.
Please ensure that medication is clearly labelled, detailing your name,
the name of the medication, the condition to which the medication
relates and the daily dosages with times and all other instructions. If
you require us to hold your medication please state this clearly on the
booking form. We DO NOT accept medication in any other format.
10. INSURANCE
You must buy appropriate travel insurance for your destination,
including the UK, to come on a Breakaway holiday. Your travel insurance
must be valid for the entire duration of your holiday including the
return date. We will need the name of your insurer, your policy number
and your insurer’s 24 hour help line number before you travel with us. It
is your responsibility to ensure that you have adequate travel insurance
cover for your personal belongings and for cancellation, curtailment
and medical emergencies including treatment and repatriation.
11. BALANCE PAYMENTS
The balance of your holiday cost is due no later than 60 days before
departure (see Section 1). Please make cheques payable to Breakaway
Ltd. A full itinerary will be sent to you approximately one week before
departure. We reserve the right to charge a fee of up to £100 for late
payments.
12. DIRECT PAYMENTS
We are able to accept payments under the Direct Payments and
Individual Budget schemes. Please speak to your social worker or
primary care provider for advice.
13. DEPARTURE AND RETURN
Prices include pick up from, and return to, designated meeting points
which will be confirmed on your itinerary. If you wish to upgrade to
our door-to-door service you may do so for an additional charge. Some
departure and return dates are subject to flight availability and may
vary by up to 24 hours from those stated.
14. TRAVEL ASSISTANCE & CHAPERONES
Customers who wish to specify male or female drivers or additional
chaperones as part of our door-to-door upgrade service must request
this at the time of booking. A charge will be made for this service.
15. PASSPORTS
It is your responsibility to ensure you have valid travel permits,
documents and passports with you at the time of departure. For
holidays in the USA please speak to us about visa and passport
requirements. Your passport must be valid for the entire duration of
your holiday and for 30 days after the return date. If you are unable to
provide a valid passport at the time of departure you will not be able
to travel with us but will still be liable for the full cost of your holiday
and the full cost of any pre-booked pickups. We are unable to provide

refunds in these cases.
16. CANCELLATION
In the event of cancellation for any reason the following nonrefundable
payments are due: cancellation more than 90 days before the start of
the holiday - deposit only; cancellation between 90 and 60 days before
the start of the holiday - 50% of the full holiday cost; cancellation
between 60 and 30 days before the start of the holiday - 75% of the
full holiday cost; cancellation less than 30 days before the start of the
holiday - 100% of the full holiday cost. Cancellations are only accepted
in writing and will be deemed as accepted on the date they arrive in the
office by post, or the date acknowledged by Breakaway if submitted by
email. Please note that payments made in respect of holidays that are
cancelled for any reason are not transferrable to alternative holidays in
any circumstances.
17. PACKING AND LUGGAGE
Please read the information at the front of our brochure relating to
packing, luggage and excess charges. It is essential that you travel
with appropriate types and quantities of clothing, footwear, outdoor
wear, toiletries, medication and personal/grooming items (including
towels where specified) and face cloths for your holiday. There may
be additional luggage restrictions for flights so please check with us
before travelling. IMPORTANT: LUGGAGE IS LIMITED TO ONE MEDIUM
BAG PER CUSTOMER PLUS ONE OVERNIGHT BAG WHERE SPECIFIED.
18. FINANCIAL SECURITY
Breakaway Holidays & Weekends Ltd is part of a financial failure
protection scheme which insures the initial deposit and subsequently
the balance of all monies paid to us, including repatriation if required,
arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements
due to the insolvency of Breakaway Holidays & Weekends Ltd. This
insurance is not travel insurance or an equivalent policy.
19. HELP AND INFORMATION
Our aim is to ensure that you have a holiday that meets your support
needs without compromising the needs, health and safety of our other
customers or our staff team. If you disclose your full support needs
before booking we will advise you on the costs of meeting those
needs and be able to put in place suitable provision for you. Please do
not withhold support information as a means of avoiding additional
support costs as this has a detrimental effect on you, us and our other
customers and the need to arrange unplanned support during a
holiday is likely to result in excess charges that are higher than those
which are pre-booked.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our
Terms and Conditions of Booking and Travel.
Payment of the deposit for your holiday forms a binding
contract and acknowledges your agreement to, and acceptance
of, all Terms and Conditions of Booking and Travel including all
additional charges that may be incurred.
