Description: Children will receive an introduction to
basic woodworking skills and will build a “bug box”
to help them catch critters! Children will be introduced to using hand saws and miter boxes, as well
as learning how to sand and finish their
projects!

tools and modern computer controlled equipment to
customize their project! Projects may include a model boat, bluebird house, wooden beach chair and
wooden pens.

Description: Summer is a time of wonder, a time for
kids to get outside and explore—to trek our beautiful
beaches, sand dunes, woods and nature parks, and
visit our farms and vineyards. Have your child come
join us as we head outdoors to experience nature
firsthand. We’ll combine classroom activities with
multiple field trips throughout the week to a variety
of outdoor destinations. Come on kids….let’s get out
and explore! A picnic lunch will be included every
day!

Little Bees Can Bake Too!

Description: It’s never too early to earn kitchen
skills! In this class, students will learn to read and
follow simple recipes, kitchen safety and how to use
them at home! In this hands-on class, we will be
baking semi-homemade treats. By the end of the
week students will bake their own personal pan
pizza!

foods! This a is a hands-on class that will cover
reading recipes, measurement, kitchen safety and
food preparation. A sample of foods we will be making include: breadsticks, cakes and cupcakes and
bread from scratch.

Description: Two weeks of fun-filled arts and
crafts and activities! Bring a snack, a water bottle
and a positive attitude! Week one includes: “Under
the Sea” crafts—paper mache, tie-dye,
scientific crafts and more! Week two includes
scarecrows, dream catchers, totem poles, mosaic
and more!

can explore the fun of science using things found in
your very own kitchen! You will perform many experiments on many everyday things—and create

Puppetry for Kids
Grades 2-5
Dates: July 20-24 & 27-31 (two week class)

the pros when you follow step-by-step
directions to create your own 24-inch rod-iron puppet! You will use your puppet to retell stories and
short scripts!

Description: Students will learn how to cook easy-to
-make microwave recipes that combine packaged and
from-scratch foods. Recipes are
illustrated step by step, so even non-readers can become successful cooks. Students will also focus on
safety, nutrition, meal planning, and microwave techniques!

BEE Robotic Camp
Grades 4—8

Description: Do you like to explore? Do you like to
have fun? If you answered YES to either of these
questions then join us for BEE Robotics Camp!
Campers will explore programming using EV3
software. They will create their own programs to
bring a robot to life! Campers will learn how to use
different sensors to guide their robot like the ultrasonic sensor and gyroscope.

Come and Bake for the Fair!
Grades K-8
Dates: August 3-7

Description: Open to any student who is interested
in preparing a baked good for the fair. We will
practice simple fudge, cakes, cookies and breads.
Students will learn presentation and food storage
according to the Berrien County Youth Fair

Schools over, Lunch is NOT!
Summer lunches will once again be offered for FREE at Bridgman Elementary School Monday
through Friday. Lunches will also be offered at Bridgman Public Library on Mondays and
Wednesdays as part of their summer reading program.
BPS is proud to announce that we are partnering with Four Leaf Properties to bring our FREE
“Summer Food Service Program” to the Shawnee Community! This is open to anyone in the area.
Closed sites: Closed sites are not open to the public, only for members of these establishments.
We will be back again to the Warren Dunes Estates to offer lunches and will be serving breakfast
and lunch at Immanuel Lutheran Child Care.
You do NOT need to be a part of the free and reduced lunch program to participate!
This is open to any child, regardless of parent’s income!
