LEARNING OUTCOMES ASSESSMENT CRITERIA The learner will: The learner can: 1. Understand design features. 1.1. Collate information about the range of potential design features, for example, shape, embellishment and fastening detail. 1.2. Collate swatches to inform choice of fabric to be used. 2. Be able to make informed design decisions. 2.1. Decide on a specific design and fabric(s), explaining the selected features in terms of the specific purpose or individual the garment is intended for. 2.2. Estimate the amount of fabric and materials required to realise their design and calculate cost. 3. Be able to construct or adapt a pattern to a specific design. 3.1. Follow own design notes and diagrams to construct/significantly adapt a pattern to include the selected design features, taking account of grain line and seam/hem allowances. 4. Be able to plan and prepare for the construction process. 4.1. Take accurate, relevant and detailed body measurements, adjusting the pattern accordingly. 4.2. Lay pattern on fabric to correct grain line, minimising waste. 4.3. Cut fabric accurately. 5. Be able to use a range of construction techniques. 5.1. Construct a range of samples reflecting the required construction techniques. 6. Be able to make a Choli Blouse. 6.1. Produce a well-finished garment using the sampled techniques, as appropriate to the selected design features. 7. Be able to review own work. 7.1. Comment on the design and production process, identifying what worked well and what could be improved.
