INFORMATION
As in 2014 Nether Green Football Club is running the tournament on
behalf of the Broomhill Festival Committee. The club is running this event
entirely separately from League football because:
- we are local and many of us who have had our own children attend the
Festival 5-a-side know how much they enjoy it
- this is for a good cause , last year we raised over £600 for the Festival
Committee which, in turn, is used to benefit local charities
As an FA Chartered Standard Club teachers, parents and others, are
assured that:

Our adult volunteers are CRB registered (we have over 30 such
volunteers for the day)

There will be qualified First Aiders in attendance should they be
required

The Football Association’s RESPECT Codes of Conduct are observed
by players, spectators and officials.
On the day there will be two tournaments….a morning competition for
girls only from 11.00am with the larger tournament kicking off at 1pm.
Side are asked to register at least 20 minutes before the start. Most
matches will be completed by 4pm with only semi-finals and finals to
follow
The ethos of the event is one of fun.

Picking a team
As this is a fun tournament we ask all sides to include at least two players
who do not play regularly for a Junior League team. To give an indication
of how, as a League club, we manage it we typically say to players ‘pick
the sides yourselves and include friends from school who don’t get the
chance to play football regularly with you’. There are plenty of summer
tournaments for established League teams and this tournament is not all
about winning, it’s about participation particularly for local players.
The likes of Academy players ands Division A Junior League players won’t
benefit from a tournament in which there are lots of entries from groups
of school friends who ordinarily just enjoy kicking a ball about. Hence the
reason as to why age groups are allocated by school years and not Under
9, Under 10 etc and we have entries from sides with fun names e.g. Arctic
Funkies.
Exception Applications are welcome from club development sides
typically Y1/2s whom clubs are preparing for League football. For many it
will be their first experience of playing others.
GIRLS____________________
This year we have the site 2 hours from 11.00am and we will
organise a tournament before the main event just for girls if there
are sufficient entries.
It may well be the case that we have to mix age ranges e.g. have from Y1
to Y3, Y4/Y5 etc. We’ll play this according to entries. Hence if you are
entering a a girls team please indicate the school years of the players. DO
NOT SEND A PAYMENT IN CASE THERE ARE INSUFFICENT ENTRIES. If this
is the case we will let you know at least a week in advance. Otherwise you
may pay on the day.

registrations are taken on the top site (left of the main entrance).

Joining and Running Instructions
1. All entries must be received by Friday 29th May.
2. On the day try and arrive no later than 12.30 pm, girls by 10.30am.
Matches will start at 1.00pm prompt and there may be a queue at
the registration desk. On arrival at the entrance to Goodwin you will
be directed to the registration desk. You will be informed of your
age group pitch on the day and given a schedule of fixtures.
3. In the event of clashing teams colours managers may borrow
coloured bibs kept at the registration desk…to be returned after the
match in which they are worn.
4. All results will be recorded on a master score board stationed by the
registration desk and on aboard by the main building on the lower
site (younger age groups). It is the responsibility of the manager or
a player from a winning side (or in the case of a draw the ‘home
side’) to deliver the match result to the registration desk where it
will be recorded on the master score board.
5. If a team does not appear within 5 minutes of the scheduled kick
off time they will forfeit the match, the points going to the other
side with a notional score of 2-0.
6. The decision of the referee is at all times final.

Rules
1. Maximum 6 players per squad that is just one sub (we want players
playing not watching).
2. Normal football rules except for unlimited on/off substitutions and no
offside. In the event of a yellow card a player will miss the next game, a
red card and the player will be banned from any further play.
3. Roll on/roll off substitutions allowed, that is a ‘subbed’ player may be
brought back on in another substitution.
3. Matches of 12 minutes duration one way (the winner of the toss
deciding the direction, the loser kicking off).
The aim is to have a minimum of 8 sides but no more than 10 sides in each age
group randomly split into two divisions A and B. The semi-finals will consist of the
winner of A playing the second team in B and the second team in A playing the
winner of the B. The winners of the semi-finals playing each other in the final.
In the event of teams tying then deciding the higher position will follow this
sequence until one side is higher than the other:
1. Goal difference, if the same then
2. Higher number of goals scored and
3. If still the same the best of 5 penalties and then ‘sudden death’.
In the unlikely event of less then 8 entries in an age group arrangements will be
made for additional matches, such as one division of 6 with 1st and 3rd, 2nd and 4th in
the semi-final.
