I.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES
l.
will hold an All India Examination for direct recruitment to the post of
Sub Inspector (Works) Group-'B', Non - Gazetted, Non Ministerial,
BSF
Engineering (Civil) (Combatised) in Border Security Force for the year -2015.
2.
Candidates are advised to go through the requirement of educational qualification,
age, physical standards, physical efficiency test etc. and satisfy themselves that they
are eligible for the post, before applying. BSF reserves the right to cancel the
candidature of any candidate at any stage of the selection process, if he is found not
qualiffing any of the prescribed eligibility criteria. The detailed advertisement is

Candidates seeking reservation benefits for Govt. Servant/ OBC/ SC/ ST &
Ex-Servicemen must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation as per
eligibility prescribed in the notice. They should also be in possession of the
certificates in the format prescribed by Govemment of India in support of their claim
at the time of application.

Central Govemment Employees/Servants claiming age relaxation should be in
possession ofa certificate in the prescribed format from their office, in respect of the
length of continuous service which should be for not less than three years in the
immediate period preceding the closing date for receipt of application.

Fee: Rupees fifty only (Rs. 50/-) payable through Demand Draft/IPO in the name
of the addressee where the application form is being submitted by the candidate. Fee
is exempted for all Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste,
Scheduled Tribe, BSF Candidates, Ex-Servicemen.

Closing Date: Application duly filled up in the given format may be sent within
30 days from the date of publication of the Notice in Employment News. The last
date of receipt of application in respect of candidates belonging to areas of North
Eastem State, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu & Kashmir State, Lahaul & Spiti
Districts and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, the Union
Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands or the Union territory of Lakshadweep is

The application form and Admit Card (Annexure-'A' & 'B') must be filled by the
candidate in his/her own handwriting/typewritten. Correction, if any, should be
legible and attested by the candidate.
Applications, which are not on prescribed format or not accompanied by the required
enclosures or incomplete or defective shall be summarily rejected. No representation
or correspondence regarding such rejection shall be entertained under any
circumstances.
The envelope containing the application must be superscripted in bold letters as

An employee serving in the same rank and pay grade will not be entitled to apply for
said post.
Candidates belonging to the Physically Handicapped category are not elisible to
apply for this examination.

Final scrutiny of eligibility criteria with regards to age, educational qualiJication,
caste, physical standards will be undertaken at the time of Jinat selection/medical
examination. Therefore, candidature will be accepted only provisionally till final
selection. At the time offinal selection when scrutiny is undertaken and d any claim
made in application is not found substantiated then the candidature will be
cancelled and the decision of BSF in this regard shall be final.

PROCESS OF CERTIFICATION AND FORMAT OF CERTIFICATES:
Candidates who wish to be considered against vacancies reserved/or seek agerelaxation must submit requisite certificate from the Competent Authority in
the prescribed format when such certificate are sought by the concemed
selection board at the time of documentation. Otherwise, their claim for
SC/ST/OBC/Ex-Servicemen status will not be entertained and their
candidature/applications will be considered under General (UR) category. The
formats of the certificates are annexed. Certificates obtained in any other
format will not be accepted. Candidates claiming OBC status may note that
certificate on creamy layer status should have been obtained within three years
before the closing date in the prescribed format only. Candidates who have
applied under UR (General) category but producing SC/ST/OBC certificate at
the time of documentation will also be accepted by the selection board. Any
similar request made by the candidates after the stage of documentation will
not be considered.

MEDICAL STANDARDS

Eye Sight : The minimum distant vision should be 616 and 6/9 of both the
eyes without correction (i.e. without wearing of glasses).
(ii)
Should not have knock knees, Flat Foot, Varicose Veins or squint in eyes and
they should possess high colour vision. The candidates will be tested for
collur vision by Ishahara's test as well as Edrich- Green Lantem Test' They
