What’s Happening Now?
The sneezing has begun, spring
has sprung and it’s camping
season again!
Time to dust off your fishing
gear and get ready for the 2015
Memorial weekend fishing
derby.
You think you’ve got what it
takes to catch that big fish?
You know the one I’m talking
about! That special tagged fish
that’ll win you $20 and a t-shirt.
This only happens during the
derby so come show us what
you’ve got!
Tickets go on sale at 9am at the
lake on Saturday, May 23rd.
Derby begins at 10am and ends
at 12pm. Ticket prices are
$1.00 for ages 0-6, $3.00 for
ages 7—13, and $5.00 for all
you older kids (14 and up).

2015 Improvement Parties

What’s going on around the
lake?? Plans are in place to
install a 3rd bathroom and the
water pump has been elevated
to eliminate sand getting into
the water.
April 11th, Buck Lake hosted
the first improvement party.
The items on the list for
improvement were installing the
water lines in the D section,
installation of a new ice
machine, cleaning up pole
building and kitchen area and
cleaning gutters on buildings.
Thank you to everyone who
came and helped with the
installations, clean up and
repairs.
It takes everyone pitching in to
keep Buck Lake beautiful.
Please plan on joining one of
the several improvement
parties planned for this year.
There are several improvement
parties planned for 2015. If
you are unable to join us on
June 13th, please plan on
coming to either the August 8th
or the September 12th party.
Lunch will be provided.
Next party is scheduled for June
13th at noon. Bring your
friends and family to make it a
fun event for all. There are
things even the little ones can
do.
Safety Rules to Remember!
All laws apply
including no
drinking for
those under 21.
Quiet time is
from 10:00 pm to
7:00 am
You are responsible for your
guests. Remind them of the
campground rules which can be
found at www.bucklake.org.
Life vests are required to be
worn by persons 12 & under.
All others must have a life vest
on the boat for each occupant.
Buck Lake is not responsible for
providing life vests.
Remember to have a shovel
and 5 gallon bucket of water at
your fire. Fire rings must be
inspected each year before you
use it.

Potluck Sunday starting at 5:30
pm. Hamburger and hot dogs
are provided. Please bring your
favorite dish to share with
everyone. Don’t forget your
plates and silverware.
We will be announcing the
winners of the fishing derby and
fish net drawing at the potluck,
so don’t miss out on great food
and fun times with your Buck
Lake family and friends.
Horseshoes and Corn Hole
competition and kids events will
be posted on the board. Check
for exact times and locations.
As always, there is Frisbee golf,
human horse races and other
fun events for everyone to
enjoy.
Fishing is closed until 10 am
the day of the fishing derby.
This allows the fish to acclimate
to the lake which helps them
last through the season.

Planning a Private Function?
Are you planning a private function? Here are some reminders:


Memorial day was known
as Decoration day and
originated in the years
following the Civil War.
In 1966, Waterloo NY was
established as the
birthplace of Memorial day
which was celebrated for
the first time on May 5,
1866

Officially established in
October 1970, and just
learned Buck Lake got it’s
name for what the lake
looks like from the sky


All member(s) and guest(s) need to be considerate of others
when undertaking activities that may be noisy or may
inconvenience others between the hours of 10:00pm and
7:00am.
Members and their guests who receive two $100 fines during
the year will not be allowed back to Buck Lake for the next 12
calendar months from the date of the second incident. Board
members who receive two $100 fines will immediately
relinquish their place on the board, will not be eligible to run
for the board the following year, and must pay normal dues for
the current year. Check your bathroom stalls for further
details.

However, if you are in
need of an outlet, tags
are required to keep from
being unplugged over
night.
Please see caretaker to
declare your medical
condition and receive
a numbered tag for
use of Buck Lake’s
outlets.

It’s recommended you use
a battery pack since
outlets are limited.
