SPECIAL AWARDS
THE BROOD MARE PREMIUM AWARD. Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain
offers one premium in Class 1. The premium will take the form of a service voucher
valued at £100.00 to be used for the service of the mare by any graded or life
approved stallion in 2016 or 2017. The premium will be awarded at the Judge’s
discretion to his selection from the prize winners. The winning mare must already be
registered with SHB (GB) and the owner must be or become a fully paid up member.
Only one award per year can be accepted. Premiums will only be awarded if there
are a minimum of three mares forward.
NOTE: Special Award H.1 will be judged before the Hunter Breeding Championships. Entries
for H.1 should be made to the steward during respective class judging.

NOTE: This class is a qualifier for the Blue Chip Flat Ridden Sport Horse Championship.
Horses to be shown on the flat, will not be required to jump. Snaffle bridles must be worn.
Note. Horses have to be registered with SHB(GB). Horses will not be ridden by the judge but
will be required to give a short individual show of walk, trot & canter of approximately 1
minute, to be awarded marks out of a possible 20 for each pace. Lengthened strides in trot
and canter must be shown. All horses are required for a conformation assessment to be
awarded marks out of a possible 50.
In relation to headwear – Competitors must wear a skull cap or hat and safety harness
according to the current approved BSI or European Standard at all times. Skull caps must
have a navy blue or black cover. ANY COMPETITOR NOT ADHEREING TO THIS WILL BE
ASKED TO LEAVE THE RING/CLASS.
Class 11
BLUE CHIP FOUR, FIVE & SIX YEAR-OLD FLAT RIDDEN SPORT HORSE.
Horses to be shown on the flat, will not be required to jump. Snaffle bridles must

have to be SHB(GB) Members.
Horses will not be ridden by the judge but will be required to give a short

A Blue Chip Cap & Qualifying rosette will be awarded to every competitor who
qualifies.
A horse may only qualify once and if already qualified the qualification will pass
down the line. – the best 4yro, 5yro & the best 6yro & over, enabling 3 horses to
qualify for the finals per qualifying class.
In the event that there are no horses from a particular age group, the qualification
will pass down the line.

then the third will qualify. No horse lower than third place will qualify. Qualification will be
verified by the Horse of the Year Show office.
Class 12 LIGHTWEIGHT HUNTER Mare or Gelding, four years old or over, capable of
carrying up to 12 stone 7lbs. Horse of the Year Show Qualifier.
Class 13 MIDDLEWEIGHT HUNTER Mare or Gelding, four years old or over, capable of
carrying over 12 stone 7lbs and not exceeding 14 stone. Horse of the Year Show

Out Horse and Groom in each of the Classes 12-14.

FARRIERS AWARD THE WORSHIPFUL COMPANY OF FARRIERS will award a
rosette to the winning horse in each class with a plaque to the overall winner & an
award to the farrier responsible for its feet & shoeing in Classes 12-15 providing 15 or
more horses are entered. The judge will take into consideration (a) condition of the
feet; (b) the making (or preparation) & fitting of the shoes; (c) nailing, the position of
clips. Normal shoes & showing plates are equally acceptable provided they are
suitable for the horse.

and height, unless special dispensation is given by the Society. When judging the
Championship Judges will use the marks they have already allocated as a guide. The highest
placed unqualified horse in the Championship will qualify for Horse of the Year Show.
Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. The Championship is only
open to the first and second prize winners in the light and heavyweight Working Hunter
classes respectively. The four horses forward in the Working Hunter Championship must all
be placed as any one of the four could be eligible for Horse of the Year Show qualification.
Class 17 WORKING HUNTER, Mare, Gelding or Stallion (competing stallions must have a
red, white and blue ribbon displayed in their tail), four years old or over capable

SPECIAL AWARDS
THE NPS offers a Kilmannan Stud Silver Medal Rosette for the Best Registered Pony
owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life member in the M&M In Hand section. The
Sponsor’s Rosette is also awarded to the pony receiving the qualification.
Membership cards must be presented in the ring to receive the medal and/or the
qualification. These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal
rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the Champion Pony is a Qualifying or
Life Member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the rider’s/handler’s
possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either
the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion Pony is not a member, or the
owner’s membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded
to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the
Champion Pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette
but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion Pony, provided the owner of
that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification
card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for
Silver Medal Championships. Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the

unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register or Appendix, International
or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB. Ponies must be plaited.

The highest placed pony, if owned by a NPS member, in each class will qualify for the final at
the NPS Summer Championship Show. Qualification may go no lower than third place if the
first and second ponies owned by a NPS member have qualified.
Class 59 SHOW PONY BROODMARE, Not exceeding 148 cms. With own foal at foot.
Class 60 PONY FOAL, progeny of mare entered in Class 59. (Foals are not eligible to
qualify for the final.)
Class 61 YEARLING COLT, GELDING or FILLY, calculated to make a show pony not
exceeding 148 cms. at maturity, i.e. not to exceed 143 cms. on day of Show.
Class 62 TWO or THREE YEAR OLD FILLY or GELDING, calculated to make a show pony

SPECIAL AWARDS
THE NPS offers the Laybalands Stud Show Pony In-Hand Silver Medal Rosette for the
Best Registered Pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life member in the Show
Pony In Hand section. Membership cards must be presented in the ring to receive
the medal and/or the qualification. These classes are judged under the Rules of the
NPS. NPS Silver Medal rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the Champion
Pony is a Qualifying or Life Member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be
in the rider’s/handler’s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately
on request by either the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion Pony is
not a member, or the owner’s membership card is not immediately produced, the
rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required
membership card. If the Champion Pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to
the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion
Pony, provided the owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal
Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third).
Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships. Qualifiers are entitled to
compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS
Summer Championship Show in August 2016.

2015 Cuddy Supreme In-Hand
Championship

Main Ring - 2.25pm
The following class is a qualifier for the Cuddy Supreme In-Hand Championship, N.E.C.,
Birmingham, 7th - 11th October 2015. The objective of the competition is to find the supreme
light horse or pony in-hand champion of the year, irrespective of breed or type (excluding
heavy horses). The Champion horse or pony from the following classes will be eligible to
compete, provided it has not already won a qualifying round in 2015.
The Champions of each of the following Bucks County Show Classes are invited to enter this
class: Overall Hunter Breeding Champion (must have foal at foot if Broodmare Champion),
Competition Horse Champion, Hack Breeding Champion & Riding Horse Breeding
Champion, Non Welsh In-Hand Champion, Shetland In-Hand Champion, Show Pony In-Hand
Champion, Skewbald & Piebald In-Hand Champion & Welsh In-Hand Champion.
If the Champion has already qualified or is ineligible, then the reserve champion of that
section may come forward, provided it has not already qualified and is eligible. If both
Champion and Reserve Champion have already qualified or are ineligible then the section will
not be represented in this qualifying round. Foal champions are not eligible.
