PLOT SUMMARY
 Gatsby stops hosting his elaborate parties in order to concentrate on Daisy
 Nick interrupts the story to tell the real background story of “Jay Gatsby”
 Nick is surprised to find Tom at Gatsby’s house one afternoon, and Gatsby confesses
to Tom that he knows Daisy
 Tom is beginning to become suspicious about the relationship between Daisy and
Gatsby
 Gatsby wants things between him and Daisy to be like they were before- Gatsby
wants Daisy to leave Tom in order for him to be with her
 Nick reminds Gatsby that he cannot re-create the past and Gatsby argues that he can
with money
