On behalf of the Rockhampton Jockey Club I invite you to join the Members
and the racing participants as they enjoy and compete in the XXXX Gold
Winter Carnival at Callaghan Park.
The racing builds in intensity and atmosphere as the meetings lead into the
two pinnacle race days $100,000 XXXX Gold Newmarket on Thursday 18
June and the $100,000 Advanced Exhausts Rockhampton Cup on Saturday
20 June.
From the free 4RO Celebration of Racing Heritage at Callaghan Park
raceday on 28 May until the end there is a range of functions on the race
days to cater for all your interests. Be glamorous one day at an indoor
dining function and then casually mix it with your mates outside on the
lawn, or undercover or doing battle with the local bookmakers.
There are lots of reasons to entice your family and/or friends to join you
here in Rockhampton in the month of June. The long weekend of June
starts with the double header of the Cambridge Hotel Motel Sprint and DLV
Finance Tattersall’s Cup on Friday/Saturday 5/6 June.
Of course for all the ex-Rockhampton Girls Grammar it is a double chance
to enjoy being back in Rocky, with the local show finishing on the Friday 12
June and the glamorous marquee functions of Girls Grammar raceday the
highlight of the race meeting on 13th June.
As always, there will be great Lion Nathan beers and ciders available to
enjoy and fashions will be to the fore on both Girls Grammar and Advanced
Exhausts Rockhampton Cup day.
