Choir Anthem
“Crown Him with Many Crowns”
with brass accompaniment
ARR. CRAIG
COURTNEY
Congregation rises after first verse.
♫ Introduction (Choir):
Crown Him with many crowns!
Crown Him with many crowns!
Crown Him with many crowns!
I. Choir:
Crown Him the Lord of love!
Behold His hands and side,
Rich wounds, yet visible above,
In beauty glorified:
No angel in the sky
Can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends his burning eye
At mysteries so bright.
II. Men in the Congregation and Choir:
Crown Him with many crowns,
The Lamb upon His throne;
Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns
All music but its own!
Awake, my soul, and sing
Of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King
Through all eternity.
III. Women in the Congregation and Choir:
Crown Him the Lord of life,
Who triumphed o’er the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife
For those He came to save;
His glories now we sing
Who die and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring,
And lives that death may die.
IV. All:
Crown Him the Lord of years,
The potentate of time,
Creator of the rolling spheres,
Ineffably sublime.
All hail, Redeemer, hail!
For Thou hast died for me;
Thy praise shall never, never fail
Throughout eternity.
CODA (Choir only):
Crown Him with many crowns!
Crown Him with many crowns!
Crown Him with many crowns!

Children’s Message
MATT BYRD
3
First Reading: Acts 10:34-43
L A reading from the book of Acts, the tenth chapter:
34Then Peter began to speak to them: "I truly understand that God shows no partiality, 35but in every nation
anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. 36You know the message he sent to the
people of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ — he is Lord of all. 37That message spread throughout Judea,
beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John announced: 38how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the
Holy Spirit and with power; how he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil,
for God was with him. 39We are witnesses to all that he did both in Judea and in Jerusalem. They put him to
death by hanging him on a tree; 40but God raised him on the third day and allowed him to appear, 41not to all
the people but to us who were chosen by God as witnesses, and who ate and drank with him after he rose
from the dead. 42He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one ordained by God
as judge of the living and the dead. 43All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him
receives forgiveness of sins through his name."
L Word of God. Word of Life.
C Thanks be to God.
Second Reading: I Corinthians 15:1-11
L A reading from Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians, the fifteenth chapter:
Now I would remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news that I proclaimed to you, which you in turn
received, in which also you stand, 2through which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message
that I proclaimed to you — unless you have come to believe in vain.
3For I handed on to you as of first importance what I in turn had received: that Christ died for our sins in
accordance with the scriptures, 4and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day in accordance
with the scriptures, 5and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6Then he appeared to more than five
hundred brothers and sisters at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died.
7Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to
me. 9For I am the least of the apostles, unfit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me has not been in vain. On the contrary, I
worked harder than any of them — though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. 11Whether then
it was I or they, so we proclaim and so you have come to believe.
L Word of God. Word of Life.
C Thanks be to God.

Gospel: Mark 16:1-8
L The Holy Gospel according to St. Mark, the sixteenth chapter:
C Glory to you, O Lord.
L When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so
that they might go and anoint him. 2And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they
went to the tomb. 3They had been saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the
entrance to the tomb?" 4When they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been
rolled back. 5As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man, dressed in a white robe, sitting on the right side;
and they were alarmed. 6But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who
was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him. 7But go, tell his
disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told you." 8So they
went out and fled from the tomb, for terror and amazement had seized them; and they said nothing to anyone,
for they were afraid.
L The Gospel of the Lord.
C Praise to you, O Christ.

Nicene Creed
A Living together in trust and hope, we confess our faith.
C We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God, begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven;
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

P It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks and praise...we
praise your name and join their unending hymn:
The Sanctus
“Holy, Holy, Holy”
p. 130
Words of Institution
P Holy God, you alone are holy, you alone are God.
The universe declares your praise:
beyond the stars;
beneath the sea;
within each cell;
within every breath.
C We praise you, O God.
P Generations bless your faithfulness:
through the water;
by night and day;
across the wilderness;
out of exile;
into the future.
C We bless you, O God.
P We give you thanks for your dear Son:
at the heart of human life;
near to those who suffer;
beside the sinner;
among the poor;
with us now.
C We thank you, O God.
7
P In the night in which he was betrayed,
our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks;
broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying:
Take and eat; this is my body, given for you.
Do this for the remembrance of me.
Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks,
and gave it for all to drink, saying:
This cup is the new covenant in my blood,
shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin.
Do this for the remembrance of me.
Remembering his love for us
on the way,
at the table,
and to the end,
we proclaim the mystery of faith:
P We pray for the gift of your Spirit:
in our gathering;
within this meal;
among your people;
throughout the world.
Blessing, praise, and thanks to you,
holy God,
through Christ Jesus,
by your Spirit,
in your church,
without end.

Lord’s Prayer
A Gathered into one by the Holy Spirit, let us pray as Jesus taught us.
C Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those
who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours,
now and forever. Amen.
