Welcome Home to our Twenty-Eighth Annual Auction!
It is a wonderful feeling to be back at our school, our home for our twentyeighth auction. As I reflect on the blessing of calling this my home for the past
twenty-nine years of my adult life, I realize how much St. Mary’s is truly a home, a
family. Having a place to go is a home, having someone to love is a family, having
both is a blessing, and that is our SMS. We share many of the same values, the same
beliefs, and especially the love for each child that walks through our doors. We
know that these children are precious gifts from God, and the adults of the future.
How blessed we are to have God as the center of our home. He is seen in
Morning Prayer, in how each student tries to live the “Cube of Love”, the community
service our students participate in so joyfully. I see His love and feel His presence in
our hallways each day. One of my favorite quotes is from Sister Teresa, “What can
you do to promote world peace? Go home and love your family”. I feel that love
in our SMS family each day.
This evening of “coming home” is a labor of love. The volunteers have worked
hard to make this evening enjoyable, and successful. Hundreds of hours have been
sacrificed to bring us all together for family reunion. We thank our volunteers for the
love and care they have put into planning this evening.
The Auction Committee would like to express a special thank you to the
contributors and the advertisers for their support. This auction would not be possible
without the generous support of the community in which we live. Please be sure to
show your appreciation to these people when you frequent their business.
Where we love is home, home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.

Fund-A-Need
800 A New Server
Value: $12,000. ~ The Fund-A-Need item chosen for this year's auction is a new server.
The server we are currently using was purchased several years ago. At that time, our
needs were limited. Over the past few years, our school needs have changed, and
we have become much more reliant upon technology. Our expanded technology
utilization has meant a heavier dependence upon a central server for everything
from intranet, to network software licenses for instruction and productivity. The server
is a piece of equipment that our faculty, staff, and students utilize every day, and
when it is down for even a short period of the day, it is missed. Our server is showing
it's age and it is time to replace it. It is an expensive piece of equipment, and one
that would be difficult to fund through our regular operating budget. Your donation
to Fund-A-Need will assist us with this purchase. Thank you for your support!
