Henrietta G. Heidell was born In Albany, N.Y. Aug. 23, 1863. Her father was Jacob HcideL and 1863 . 1863-4 her mother Sylvia Wilcotc Jacob was born in AlsaceLorraine, France. Sylvia in. Mass. Ref.$ her death certificate, marriage cert., and 1880 census. Jacob Heidell, blaoksaith, lived at 48 Dallius a d then 32 Westerlo streets.in Albany, N.Y. B e f . a city directories. Noter Jacob Heidell was variously listed as a blacksmith and a confectioner in Utica, N. Y. 1852-1860. A confectioner named Ignatius.. Heldel was in business with Jacob at 204 Genesee street. Impression: Jacob Heidell died or divorced and Sylvia remarried to John H. Levi. They lived in Greenfield, only 59 miles from Albany, N.Y. and Henrietta lived with her mother and stepfather until1 she married. Lev1 seems to be an obvious Jewish name, The question has bee raised as to whether Jacob and Sylvia Heidell were also Jewish. Henrietta marriea!
