Christopher Cummings Memorial Scholarship










This scholarship is to be awarded to the student(s) who best exemplifies both community service and interest in
attending a 4-year college/university the fall semester immediately following graduation from high school.
This scholarship will be:
$1,000 to be applied toward tuition to an accredited 4-year college/university.
Awarded to a student who is a well-rounded individual with community service and school involvement.
Qualified applicants should meet the following criteria:
Be a graduating senior with a minimum 2.8 overall GPA from either Forest Park High School or Potomac High
School. Must include an official high school transcript.
Plan to attend an accredited 4-year college or university in the fall following graduation.
Demonstrate voluntary service to the local community (Prince William County or the Washington, D.C.
Metropolitan Area)
Submit three letters of recommendation from adults (excluding immediate family members or other relatives)
who can validate the applicant’s commitment to the community, interest in further education, and/or good
character. One letter must be from a school staff member.
Completed application, official transcript and recommendation letters must be submitted to: Mrs. Kim Bryson,

Virginia State University Alumni Association, Prince William Chapter, Inc. – Scholarships




Scholarship awards incoming freshman from the Northern Virginia area that plan to attend Virginia State
University in Petersburg, Virginia on a full-time basis in the Fall of 2015
The applicant must met the following criteria: a copy of Virginia State University Acceptance letter, submit a
completed scholarship application, attend a high school in Northern Virginia, have a GPA of 2.3 or greater on a
4.0 scale, demonstrate leadership ability and community involvement, demonstrate economic need, submit two
(2) letters of recommendation: (one from a counselor or teacher, and one from a church or community leader,
and submit an essay of 250-300 word essay





Applicant must be an African American male, US Citizen, enrolled in a Prince William County, Stafford County,
Manassas or Manassas Park Public School, be a graduating high school senior, and have a minimum cumulative
GPA of a 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
The complete application must include: two letters of recommendation, an official high school transcript, and a
700-750 word essay addressing the topic indicated on the application

Will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a qualified graduating senior from among the high schools in Prince
William County, City of Manassas, and the City of Manassas Park
Scholarships will be awarded to students who will be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronics
engineering, or in computer-related sciences






Will award one college scholarship for the amount of $3000.

Dale City Civic Association of Northern Virginia - 2015 Scholastic Achievement Scholarship




Applicants will be judged on the following criteria - cumulative GPA of at least 2.5, official transcript of grades,
and letter of recommendation from one of the following: counselor, teacher, school administrator, pastor of
church, volunteer or organization, employer, coach, or club.
Applicants will also submit an essay - “What Dale City means to me and how it has helped Me.", participation in
extracurricular activities, and personal interview.







Carl T. Rowan Chapter – Blacks in Government - Evangeline J. Montgomery Scholarship


Applicants must be high school students who will be graduating in the Spring 2015 semester
Interested applicants are to submit a completed scholarship application form, a written essay of 250-500 words,
an official high school transcript (2.75 or better GPA), a completed certification of academic standing, a letter of

recommendation (no more than 2), and a recent color photograph. Applicants must submit all the requested
information in order to be considered for the scholarship
The chapter will be awarding up to six (6) $1,000 scholarships

George M. Hampton Foundation Scholarship 2015




The foundation will provide scholarships to deserving high school seniors attending public high schools in prince
William County, Stafford County, Manassas, and Manassas Park
The foundation will award six (6) scholarships to students in our community to high school seniors attending a
four-year university and two (2) scholarships to seniors attending a junior or community college in the fall
semester. These are one year scholarships.

CTI Real Estate Scholarship 2015
 The CTI real estate awards every year awards a Scholarship to a high school deserving Senior.

leader, and
 Include a copy of formal college acceptance letter

Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild 2015 Scholarship





The Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild will be awarding a $1,500 tuition scholarship and a second tuition
scholarship of $600 may be awarded if the committee finds a worthy candidate
Applicants must be students who intend to pursue studies in the fields of crafts or art at colleges, universities or
established craft and art schools. Performing Arts do not qualify.
To qualify for the scholarship applicants must be a 2015 high school graduate; a Northern Virginia Resident
(including Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax City, Manassas, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Prince William County,
and Stafford County; Interest and demonstrable talent in a craft or art; Evidence of reasonable chance of success
in the applicants’ planned program of studies; and financial need



The scholarship is designed to aid and honor talented Hispanic high school seniors. The scholarships are






A scholarship of $2,000 is going to be awarded to a Virginia resident, High School Senior or College/University

Transcript, Essay, and proof of acceptance or current enrollment into an accredited aviation related academic




Scholarship program is designed to attract exceptional in-state students to U.VA. This scholarship is designed to
attract students of diversity who will add to the diversity of the University community.
The award will be covering full tuition for four years. All in-state applicants will automatically be considered for
this award. The most competitive applicants will demonstrate through the UVA supplement of the common
application that they have special talents, unique personal characteristics, and/or pressing needs which will
assist UVA with the objective of recruit and retain a diverse student body.
Academic merit, leadership, service, and citizenship are primary considerations. Students must also satisfy at





The organization is committed to helping student athletes use sports to further their education. Therefore, they






