Any student not attending class is required to call (573) 214-3803 before 5pm. Any calls after 5pm, should be made to the evening supervisors at (573) 239-2848. Leave a message for your instructor and Workforce Development Coordinator. A minimum of 95% attendance is required for all of our students. Grades are important but many shops and businesses are looking for students that have 100% attendance. As an employer, would you rather have a “B”/”C” student that showed up every day or do you want an “A” student that only has 85% attendance. There is a direct correlation between attendance and grades. Businesses “pay the bills” with your attendance and you are a direct reflection of our welding program. You must have determination and ambition to succeed as a welder. Showing up on time and every day is a key element to your success. You must provide us with documentation for your absences! We need documentation in writing why you missed class by the next class session. If you’re sick please get a notice/letter from your doctor’s office so we can properly document your excused absence. Student Handbook The Adult Student Handbook will be given to you on the first night of class. If you lose your first copy and would like a new one, you may visit the Professional and Community Education Office during office hours. The Adult Student Handbook is also available on our website at www.career-center.org/adult.
