Most recently, the Faculty of Business successfully launched the world’s first hockey-specific Executive MBA program. The Dean is expected to guide the Faculty in fulfilling its commitments to teaching, research and service. The Dean is also responsible for contributing to the achievement of the goals identified in the Strategic University Plan. The Dean reports directly to the Vice-President, Academic and, as a member of the Deans’ Council, is expected to make a significant contribution to the governance of the university. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD and will be a dynamic, innovative leader. She or he will possess an open, collegial style; proven administrative, fiscal management, communications and interpersonal skills; and, a solid scholarly and professional record. Most important, the Dean must have the ability to inspire faculty and staff and be capable of building and sustaining positive relations with all constituents. The Faculty of Business has offices in Edmonton, AB and Athabasca, AB. The candidate has the option of residing anywhere in Alberta; however travel to Athabasca University campuses is required.
