The use of orals demands greater care coordination between the provider and the patient, but also between the patient and the specialty pharmacy, the Patient Assistance Programs and payers. Care coordinators and patient navigators are not financially viable for every practice. What tools are available to manage this process? This panel will cover the legal, clinical and payer perspectives. 10:30 - 11:00 a.m. Break 11:00 - 11:30 a.m. U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, Representative for Michigan’s 12th District 11:30 - 1:00 p.m. Evolving Models of Oncology Care Management - Panel Discussion - Oncology Care Models (OCM) are rapidly evolving. Nearly 15 years ago many stakeholders in the care of Michigan’s cancer patients created and committed to a consensus agreement to increase participation in select cancer-related clinical trials by making payment predictable for services provided within the context of clinical trials. The Michigan Cancer Consortium is reevaluating this agreement to be in line with the cutting edge of cancer research. This session will introduce the current issues and invite participation in the process. Integrating New Treatments into Your Practice: Immunotherapy - Panel Discussion - 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. The use of immunotherapy in cancer treatment will fundamentally change how patients receive and respond to care. PD1 compounds are but one example of these new treatments. How will you, as a physician, recognize when the patient is responding to treatment? How will you, as an administrator, integrate these new treatments into your workflow: How are payers preparing for these new treatment paradigms?
