April is Autism Awareness Month!
The month of April is very important to the Carlos Vieira Foundation and the
families we support with our Race for Autism year-long campaign. With the
increase in children being diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, 1 out of
every 68 children currently, it has never been more vital that we continue the
good work of protecting and assisting as many families as possible.

In recognition of Autism Awareness Month 51FIFTY has
released their Race for Autism Cans to the public. They
are also allowing civic groups, services organizations,
boosters, and local children’s clubs to purchase cases at
more than a 50% discount to not only spread the word
but allow other community groups to fundraise for their
cause. Make sure you pick up a can today!
On April 19th we are hosting an Autism Family Fun Day at 51FIFTY Headquarters
in Livingston, CA! From 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. Families that are raising an autistic child
are invited to come for free food, activities, games and prizes for everyone!
Activities include carnival games that have been modified for children who may
have limitations. If you know a family that might enjoy this event, please
encourage them to contact us! The more the merrier! RSVPs must be submitted
by 4/16/15.

3rd Annual Gloves Not Drugs - SUCCESS!
On March 28th the Foundation in partnership with the Merced County Sheriffs
Activities League welcomed celebrity guest speaker boxing legend Sugar Ray
Leonard to our 3rd Annual Gloves Not Drugs sponsored by 51FIFTY. The Champ
opened the 20 bout boxing competition with a message to the kids to “dream
big, stay in school, work hard at your craft, and avoid gangs and drugs.”
Having “the Champ” onsite had the boxers really showing their stuff. It was a
great day for boxing, for charity and the community. A wonderful time was had
by all and because of the success, the Foundation is looking into the possibility of
bringing in another motivational boxing presenter next year! You can find all the

Fireworks Fundraisers!
The Carlos Vieira Foundation is excited to announce that we will have a
fireworks booth in both Atwater and Livingston! We submitted a detailed
application to city officials and were selected! Please plan to purchase this
year’s fireworks at one of our booths and help your favorite charity!
