Mary Ann BOYCE was born in Notting Hill and brought up in north London.
Edward BAMBRIDGE was born and brought up in Tunstead, Norfolk. She was
19 and he was 35 when they married. Edward was the much younger brother
of Mary Ann's mother Ann [BAMBRIDGE] BOYCE, and so the marriage was
between uncle and niece. The birth Edward & Mary Ann's first child,
Ann Sarah BAMBRIDGE, was registered in the quarter following that of their
marriage. The marriage and birth were both registered in Kensington. In 1881
they were at 2 Fowlers Road, West Ham with their 8 month old baby. They
later moved to Barking, Essex. See chart (e2) for Edward BAMBRIDGE.

George's parents were George FRANKUM, a shoemaker of Reading, and his wife,
Sarah, born in Deptford. On census night in 1901, Florence (age 36) is at home
at 9 Lorne Gardens, Kensington, with her 7 children. Her husband, George is not
present, but her husband's younger brother, Joseph FRANKUM (21), described as
"uncle - painter's labourer", is there. Florence's husband, George, is at a different
address in Kensington, (also described as "painter's labourer"), with a married
charwoman Harriet EVANS, whose own husband is absent.

m. 1884, Kensington
Matthias's parents were John WHITEHEAD, born Billington, Lancashire,
and his wife Jane, born in Leeds, Yorkshire. They were both cotton power
loom weavers. Matthias first married Mary Ann MacKARNEY in 1863
in Blackburn. In 1871, the couple were with Mary's parents (surname
recorded as McKEARNAN). Mary Ann died early in 1881, and in that
year's census, Matthias was back with parents John and Jane. Also present
was their grandson Joseph M. WHITEHEAD who was probably the son
of Matthias and Mary Ann, and half-sibling of the children shown below.

Since writing the above note I have been contacted by Pat Milner
who has told me that Harriet Alice BOYCE did indeed marry in
1893 to Fiens Oscar HORSMAN in Kensington.
Fiens was born in Tiddington, Alveston, Warwickshire in 1869
to parents Samuel HORSMAN and his wife Hannah [CLAREY].
Harriet and Fiens had 4 surviving children, but Harriet died in 1906.
Two years later Fiens married Thurza Beatrice BOYCE who was
Harriet's sister. Thurza and Fiens had one daughter to add to the
four children Fiens brought from his first marriage.

FreeBMD reveals a page of the marriage register
for 1893 December qtr has the following names:
>>> Harriet Alice BOYCE
>>> Alice Ann BOULTON
>>> Firns Oscar HORSMAN
>>> Thomas William UPTON
I think this is the right Harriet but have not yet
been able to resolve the marriage. Incidentally,
the GRO image is blurred and very difficult to
read, and the name "Firns" may not be right.
