Edward BAMBRIDGE was born and brought up in Tunstead, Norfolk. She was 19 and he was 35 when they married. Edward was the much younger brother of Mary Ann's mother Ann [BAMBRIDGE] BOYCE, and so the marriage was between uncle and niece. The birth Edward & Mary Ann's first child, Ann Sarah BAMBRIDGE, was registered in the quarter following that of their marriage. The marriage and birth were both registered in Kensington. In 1881 they were at 2 Fowlers Road, West Ham with their 8 month old baby. They later moved to Barking, Essex. On census night in 1901, Florence (age 36) is at home at 9 Lorne Gardens, Kensington, with her 7 children. Her husband, George is not present, but her husband's younger brother, Joseph FRANKUM (21), described as "uncle - painter's labourer", is there. They were both cotton power loom weavers. Matthias first married Mary Ann MacKARNEY in 1863 in Blackburn. In 1871, the couple were with Mary's parents (surname recorded as McKEARNAN). Mary Ann died early in 1881, and in that year's census, Matthias was back with parents John and Jane. Also present was their grandson Joseph M. WHITEHEAD who was probably the son of Matthias and Mary Ann, and half-sibling of the children shown below. Fiens was born in Tiddington, Alveston, Warwickshire in 1869 to parents Samuel HORSMAN and his wife Hannah [CLAREY]. Harriet and Fiens had 4 surviving children, but Harriet died in 1906. Two years later Fiens married Thurza Beatrice BOYCE who was Harriet's sister. Incidentally, the GRO image is blurred and very difficult to read, and the name "Firns" may not be right.
