Congratula ons to Rayden Meyer and Savannah
Wa s for winning the Science Fair held at school.
They will be going to regionals on March 21.
Maria Harmon was the winner of the all
school Spelling Bee! Unfortunately, she will
not be able to a end the SJ-R Spelling Bee
compe on on March 21. Jaiden Bivins,
who is the runner- up, will a end in Maria’s
absence. We are proud of you both!
JBQ results from the January meet are as follows. Noah Renfro 10th
place, Ainsley Johnson 8th, Reed Miller 6th, Hannah Robinson 1st.
Simone Johnson, Hannah, Ainsley, Reed, and Noah represent the
B team and they finished in 1st place.

Congratula ons to Joseph Mar n for being named to the MSM 1st
Team All-Conference for Boys Basketball. This is Joseph’s second
consecu ve year being selected for the 1st Team.

Volunteers Needed
Calvary Academy is in need of volunteer bus drivers for volleyball, basketball, baseball, and
so ball. Drivers need to have a CDL with a passenger endorsement. These hours may be

Dental Exams Required for K, 2nd & 6th
The State of Illinois requires students in these grades to
present proof of having received a dental exam before
May 15, 2015. If you need a dental form, they are available in
the Academy Office.
Graduation Requirement
All high school students must complete 20 hours of
community service each school year. These hours are in
addi on to NJHS/NHS service hours and financial aid hours.
To help students complete this requirement, a year is from
July 1st and ends on July 31st of the following year. Forms are
available in the Academy Office.
Background Checks
Any volunteer who wishes to work PIP hours including going
on field trips must have a background check completed and
on file in the Academy Office. Please note that all background
checks expire a er 3 years. Forms are available in the Office.

The Parent Involvement Program grants
families $10 of tui on credit for each hour
volunteered up to a maximum of 20 hours
per school year per family.
You can earn tui on credit of $100 by simply
a ending 2 parent nights during the 14-15
school year or $50 per night (maximum of
2 events).
If a new family enrolls at CA and uses your
name as the referring party, your account
will be credited 10% of the tui on the new
family pays. Credit is applied in December
and June and 5% each following year both
families remain at CA.
Purchase Saints Savings to do your grocery,
restaurant, gas sta on, retail shopping and
gi giving and CA splits the % of profit
toward your account.
Walk-a-thon - 90% raised a er the first $25 (1
student) $40 ( more than one student) will
be applied toward tui on.
Two product fundraisers net a minimum of
30% of your gross sale. This 30% is applied
to your tui on account.
Fannie May candy bars are available for
personal sales 12 months a year. For each
box sold your profit is $21.

Andrew Peecher (class of 2011) has been accepted into Western Theological Seminary, Princeton
Seminary, Duke Seminary, & Gordon-Conwell Seminary. He has also been chosen to join Phi Beta
Kappa which is the oldest fraternal honors society.
Lauren Thomas (class of 2011) made the Dean’s List 2 consecu ve semesters at ISU and has been
named Bowman Fellow, a pres gious award given to select students in the College of Educa on.
Collin Mingo (Class of 2011) received the Lindenwood University-Belleville Academic All-conference
honors for 2014/2015.
Clayton Whitlock (class of 2011) has recently been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athle c

for the past two years.

been accepted into the Veterinary
Technology program and was
granted the Presiden al Scholarship.
The Senior Class was recently presented an opportunity to
par cipate in the city wide Lincoln Essay Contest
sponsored by members of the former Illinois Watch
Company. The essay contest challenged students to write
a moving ar cle discussing the values former President
Abraham Lincoln held about the importance of good
scholarship. Each par cipa ng school was awarded a first,
second and third place prize. Jordan Roof was Calvary’s
first place winner – receiving a genuine 1920s era Illinois
Watch Company watch and an original Abraham Lincoln
Bronze Medallion. Joseph Mar n and Brianne Seiders
were awarded second and third place respec vely. All
three students received honorable men on city-wide.
