The menu is mainly northern Indian fare alongside some of
southern India’s most famous curries. Chef Gupta offers an
extensive selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes,
along with a choice of rice, biryanis and a variety of Indian
breads. The menu features many of the Indian curries that
are so popular with diners, and for those unable to make
the difficult decision on what to choose, there are platter
options and a banquet menu.

In 2014, experienced restaurateurs Judy and Michael McMahon
celebrated 20 years at Catalina, and now son James and
daughter Kate have joined them in the successful enterprise.
Catalina’s long-serving Head Chef Mark Axisa continues to
produce dishes that ensure the harbourside restaurant’s
continuing popularity and acclaim.
Under the McMahons’ ownership, Catalina has been transformed from an unassuming and tired place to a modern,
stylish and award-winning restaurant.
With good reason, one expects superb fish dishes at Catalina,
but the pork belly with apple remoulade is a mouth-watering
start to a meal. The ‘Glacier 51’ toothfish is a recent arrival to
Australian restaurant menus. This premium fish from the
depths of sub-Antarctic waters has a white flesh and a delicate
texture. Cooked sous-vide and served in a tomato broth, this is
a must-try for fish lovers. The pan-fried snapper is a drawcard
for Catalina; the lemon and caper sauce gives the fish flavour
and substance and the creamy mash completes the dish.

Chef Mike McEnearney
Bistro
Mike McEnearney, former Executive Chef of Rockpool, has
converted this old warehouse into a foodie’s heaven. His
dedication to fresh produce and his respect for cooking
shine through in this former Rosella Factory.
Teaming up with the Koskela team, this huge space is divided
between beautifully made Australian furniture and the quirky
tables of Kitchen by Mike. This canteen-style venue is a great
place to meet friends for amazing food or just a coffee.
With market gardens at the door, you are immediately drawn
to this man’s respect for produce, and the food certainly
reflects this focus. The menu is based on what is available
at the markets on the day, so it changes daily. However, it
always features at least two meat or fish dishes, as well as a
selection of salads offering unique flavour combinations.
Wood-fired pizzas or focaccia are always available, as are
tartines, quiches, wraps and rolls.
