2015 Catori Lane Short Course is proud to be a part of the Kingston Short Course Series for 2015. Competitors must compete at 3 shows to be eligible for year end awards. Best 3 scores will be used to calculate year end leaderboard. Divisions Offered: $85 per Division Pre­Starter: ­ ​
18 inches and under. Very inviting fences, excellent for green horses / riders. ­ Walk trot dressage test. Starter: ­ 2’0” max height. A variety of inviting cross country fences. ­ Walk, trot, canter dressage test. Pre­ Entry: ­ 2’6” max height. A variety of inviting cross country fences, a good introduction to eventing. ­ Walk, trot, canter dressage test. Entry: ­ 2’9” max height. ­ Our Hallowe­en Special! Costumes are encouraged with prizes and ribbons going to the best costume Jr/Sr! Competitors must wear their number at all times in the schooling and exercise area. Parking in designated areas only will be clearly marked – NO LUNGEING. v ​
Tests may be called at the show. v ​
Ring Size will be 20x40 for all divisions. v ​
Tack Check required before each phase. It is the rider’s responsibility to report to the tack check person prior to their dressage test and jumping round. Failure to do so will result in elimination. v ​
All Owners and competitors are personally responsible for damages to third parties caused by themselves, their employees, their agents or their horses. Third party insurance providing full coverage for participation in equestrian events is necessary​

Helmets are required for all riders. ASTM/SEI or BSI approved headgear must be worn by all riders. v ​

ca. New Rules posted for 2015 KSCS Rule book shall be the 1st referred to when looking for a rule, second
to that is the EC Rule book. When differing rules…the KSCS Rule book is the
one underwhich ALL KSCS Events shall defer to, operate under and respect.
• To qualify for Year End Awards a rider must compete in 3 Events
• The Year End Champion~Rider /Horse combination of a given division must either move up to the next division or
ride Hors Concours in following years
• The “Grasshopper” division shall be renamed PRESTARTER division
• The first jump shall NOT be used as the START/FINISH line.
• A rider shall not continue on course if they have had a fall. They shall not remount, they must walk off course. It shall
be up to the discretion of the Host as to whether they may continue if they have a fall in the ‘warm-up ring’.
• The jumps in the ‘warm-up ring’ must be flagged. The first time a rider jumps in the wrong direction they shall
receive a Verbal Warning. The second jump in the wrong direction will mean ELIMINATION.
• There shall be no lunging on the grounds
• There shall be no dogs permitted
• *Trainers shall be able to use the KSC series to train a horse at a fee of $10 less than the Regular fee (ridden Hors
Concours, No Ribbon awarded)
• Those who choose to ride Hors Concours shall register at a fee of $10 less than the Regular fee (No Ribbon awarded)

The JR/SR divisions shall be split for placing. ~A Junior rider is one who is under 18 years of age as of January 1 of the
current year.
There shall no longer be Best Groomed Awards for Year End- the expectation is that horses are turned out well for
every event.
ALL jumps shall be flagged…in Stadium and XC.
XC stop watches may be worn..this is part of learning how to event.
All Jumping Phases shall be timed as this is part of the learning how to event…it is up to the discretion of the Host site
to defer this if footing is poor. Optimum Times will be made available to participants.
