SKILLS
CAMPS
2015
BALL Handling
& Shooting
athletic skills, depend on muscle-memory.
The best way to develop muscle-memory is
through constant repetition. Our philosophy
is to teach proper execution of each skill, followed by thousands of repetitions.
History
For over two decades, Triple C Basketball
Camps have helped players develop their
basketball abilities through week-long
summer camps. The purpose of these camps
has been to develop individual skills during
the off-season. Two of the major emphases
have been ball-handling and shooting. These
skills have been emphasized because of their
ability to increase playing time for players
who develop them.
The Plan
Triple C Shooting Camp and Triple C BallHandling Camp are 8 week camps that meet
once a week for the purpose of charting a
player’s skill development over the course
of the summer. Participation in these camps
also involves individual workouts an additional four days per week. Players should
anticipate spending a minimum of 30–40
minutes per day in skill development for a
total of five days per week. These camps are
only for those who are serious and motivated
about advancing their ability throughout the
summer. Therefore we are only accepting
campers entering grades 6–12. Also, we do
not recommend registration in both camps
simultaneously.
The Need
We have observed incredible short-term
improvement over the course of a one
week camp. However, many players do not
have the personal commitment to continue
their skill development all summer long. As
a result of these observations, we began
a summer ball-handling program in 2009
to provide players a plan, a commitment,
and an incentive to work hard throughout
the off-season.After seeing the incredible
improvements players have made, we also
introduced a summer-long shooting camp
in 2011.
Our Philosophy
We believe that every player who improves
their ball-handling will also improve their
passing, catching, shooting, court vision,
hand quickness, footwork, and even defensive anticipation. On a similar note, the ability
to shoot and score consistently will open the
door for considerable playing time regardless
of what level of basketball you are competing in. Both shooting and dribbling, like all
Dates
A demonstration/informational meeting
will be held in the gym at Calvary Baptist on
Tuesday, June 9 at 6:00 p.m. for the shooting
camp and at 7:30 p.m. for the ball-handling
camp. At this meeting we will answer questions, demonstrate drills, and hand out the
week #1 workout. This meeting is the beginning of the camps and is very important to
attend! Our first regular day in the gym will
be on Tuesday, June 16. We will meet every
Tuesday from then until August 4. Our final
meeting will be on Tuesday, August 11 for
our “Summer Shootout.” This will be a fun
evening of competitions, challenge, and
awards for the combined shooting and ballhandling camps. You won’t want to miss it!

The Incentive
Triple C Shooting, Ball-Handling, and Advanced Skills Camps cost $210 each for the 8 week
program. Our goal is to not add another expensive camp to the summer, but to help players
develop in character and skill. Therefore, at the end of the summer, Triple C will pay each player
$20 per week that he/she completes the workouts. This gives each player in camp the opportunity to earn $160 over their 8 weeks of workouts. Also, players will be allowed to miss one
week of workouts without any penalty.
