Bring machine, manual, foot pedal, cord, thread, scrap fabric. Page 10 Comments from Tim . . . . . . on Longarm Quilting. I fill longarm machine bobbins from a single cone, or spool, & test the bobbin tension in a TOWA gauge before running test stiches or stitching on your quilt. When a quilt is finished, I remove all the remaining thread from the bobbins & save it in color coordinated bags for “fabric artists”. This assures you that each quilt starts with freshly matched thread in the bobbin, & provides “fabric artists” long lengths of loose thread. Fiber artists - just stop by & ask for it. . . . On Gutermann thread. Due to quality issues, we have discontinued the use, & sale of, Gutermann variegated thread & now offer WonderFil Tutti variegated thread. It is 50 weight, 3-ply, long staple Egyptian cotton thread. Plus, this WonderFil thread is double gassed & mercerized for extra sheen, softness & cleanliness. There is an average of 40 color combinations available in 1000 meter spools, & 3000 meters on a King cone. If you have any questions, stop by & let us show it to you. Comments from Dena . . . . . on fabric. I am so excited & wanted you to know why. The past few days, Tim, Deborah & I have looked at Batik fabrics. There are so many great new, luscious colors, designs & textures available now. We could hardly contain ourselves, so from February through the end of May, we will be receiving over 70 new bolts of Batiks, even Christmas ones (but you have to wait a bit to see those). Hurry in all you Batik lovers. There is also a special Batik we have all been waiting for; a white poplin Batik to give you the same body as your colored Batiks when using them together. Comments from Deborah . . . . . . classes, the newsletter & our instructors. In case you didn’t know, I put the newsletter together quarterly & have been asked by our instructors to add a section where I could list their names & their class specialties, so I will do that here in the little space I have left. Later, I will fine tune this section, add instructors & elaborate a bit more. Instructor Dena Dority Classes Beginning Quilting Pieced Quilting Classes Crystals (Bling!)
