PRAISE Thank You that Jesus, with His blood, purchased sons and daughters for You from every tribe and language and people and nation…and that You yearn for all people everywhere to repent; You have no desire that any person should spend eternity without you! – 31 Days of Praise by Ruth Myers. The prayers below are courtesy of www.presidentialprayerteam.org PRAYER FOR AMERICA Heavenly Father, We pray for our Law Enforcement personnel and our Military Forces throughout the America and those in harm’s way daily around the World. Your Word says You command angels to guard and protect His children. May legions of angels be around them daily as they do their work. Father, draw them by Your Spirit in mighty ways, speak truths into their hearts that they will trust in Your faithfulness and be guided always by Your Holy Spirit whispering truths into their hearts. Protect them always and thank you Father for angelic hosts. In Yeshua’sHolyName,WePray. Amen. PRAY FOR PRESIDENT OBAMA AND HIS ADMINISTRATION The Obama Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency will require new rules to cut emissions from airplanes, expanding a quest to tackle climate change pursuant to an announcement scheduled for next week. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been flying small planes with surveillance technology above dozens of cities in the U.S., photographing scenes and images from below and often mimicking cellphone towers. We pray about the numerous regulations the Obama Administration is putting in place from many of its agencies. PRAY FOR OUR CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS The Chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi, Trey Gowdy (South Carolina) is endorsing a move to deny some funding to the State Department in order to force cooperation with the panel’s ongoing investigation. House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (Washington) and others are creating a congressional task force on law enforcement practices in the wake of Baltimore and Ferguson riots. We pray for our Representatives and Senators as they deal with issues of both foreign and domestic security. PRAY FOR OUR JUDICIARY The Supreme Court will rule on five significant cases this month including same-sex marriage, ObamaCare subsidies, taking of private property for public use, flag burning, and whether church signs are the same as political ones. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of a Muslim woman who sued for discrimination after being denied a sales job at age 17 at a trendy clothing retail store in Oklahoma because she wore a head scarf for religious reasons. We pray for wisdom for the Supreme Court Justices as they rule on issues that will impact America’s moral future. PRAY FOR THESE NATIONAL LEADERS IN THE NEWS THIS WEEK: Thomas E. Perez, United States Secretary of Labor. Heidi Heilkamp, United States Senator from North Dakota. Judge Rosemary M. Collyer, United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Major General Thomas J. Masiello, Commander, United States Air Force Research Laboratory. WARS AND TERRORISM Building on recent gains in Iraq and Syria, Islamic State militants are marching across Syria toward Aleppo, Syria’s largest city, helped along, their opponents say, by the forces of President Bashar al-Assad. An Afghan interpreter for the U.S. military, who had been waiting for over four years on a U.S. visa, was tortured and killed by insurgents, raising concerns that other translators could meet a similar fate as U.S. troops withdraw. We pray for the safety of U.S. troops and those who assist them in the ongoing wars against terrorism. FOREIGN INTERESTS AND CONFLICTS A senior State Department official has held talks with the Houthi rebels of Yemen, opening a new round of diplomacy aimed at persuading the country’s warring factions to participate in a peace conference in Geneva. International inspectors report that Iran’s stockpile of nuclear fuel has increased about 20 percent over the past 18 months of negotiations, but that they have stopped producing certain types of highly enriched uranium. We pray about the diplomatic efforts regarding Iran’s nuclear program and stopping the conflict in Yemen. ISRAEL AND THE MIDDLE EAST Prime Minister Netanyahu has put Israel’s credibility at risk with his “shifting” comments about a two-state solution with the Palestinians, President Barack Obama said in an interview this week on Israeli television. A United Nations committee on non-governmental organizations granted official consultative status to a Palestinian advocacy group with alleged ties to the Hamas terror group, calling it “Hamas of Europe.” We pray for the security of Israel, and about the desirability of a two-state solution with a divided Jerusalem. THE ECONOMY The world economy risks being bogged down in a low-growth spiral unless measures are taken to spur demand and incite businesses to boost their stubbornly sluggish investments, an international economic think-tank reported. U.S. consumer spending was unexpectedly flat in April as households cut back on purchases of automobiles and continued to boost savings, suggesting the economy was struggling to gain momentum early in the second quarter. We pray about the sluggish U.S. and world economies and the fears of uncertain futures that result. HEALTH CARE The House Ways and Means Committee has voted to repeal a 2.3 percent tax on many medical devices that helps pay for President Obama’s health care overhaul, saying the levy costs jobs and stifles innovation. A new drug that unleashes the body’s immune system to attack tumors can prolong the lives of people with the most common form of lung cancer, the latest example of significant results from this type of medication. We pray for the physicians, laboratory technicians and inventors who continually work to improve America’s health. These prayers below are courtesy of www.saltandlightcouncil.org MARRIAGE BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN Lord, we lift marriage up to you and ask for your kindness that this institution will always remain between one man and one woman as you ordained by creating Adam and then Eve. We pray for the protection of our children. Marriage is an essential building block for society. It is the ideal to strive for and we pray it remains intact. May those states that have same-sex marriage be moved to reverse their decisions. May the Church and its people step up and step forward to take a stand for the biblical definition of marriage. SEX — LIES — LIFE FROM CONCEPTION Lord, we lift up sexual relations in our nation; may they be respected and not treated as recreation. We pray for those who have been lied to and deceived that contraception is good, while it opens the door for recreational sex. We pray for modesty in our nation and a return to morality and restraint. We are heartsick that the movies, media and television have become pornographic and desensitized to proper boundaries. We are sad they are not accountable, and the Church removed itself from having influence in this arena years ago. Please, Lord, empower Christians with money, ingenuity and courage to return to these areas that broadcast through the airwaves. Please bring truth, redemption and dignity back to America. May we connect sex to marriage and fidelity once again. May men take responsibility for the women they pursue and the children they father. May women be pure, wholesome and demand to be respected. May sexual education be taught by parents; not our schools and media. May we end abortion by choice, defund Planned Parenthood, and choose abstinence until married. The Lord has laid before us life and death; choose life. SALT AND LIGHT PRAYER FOR OUR COUNTRY "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there” — 2 Chronicles 7:14-16 (NKJV). MISSION PRAYER OF SALT AND LIGHT “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” — 1 Timothy 2:1-5 (NKJV).
